Tanya Walker in "The Fall Guy"...Sort Of

Many people might not know this, but the voice you hear as Tanya Walker in the Pilot of Knight Rider does not belong to Phyllis Davis, the actress who played Walker. Her voice was dubbed over. Well, in watching the first season of "The Fall Guy", I have found two episodes where the same voice actress is used to dub over the actresses' voice! One is in "License to Kill Part 1" where a Hawaiian girl seduces Howie. It's unmistakably the same voice as Tanya, but a different actress!

That's pretty interesting. Why was the actress' voice dubbed over, may I ask?

Phyllis Davis had a recurring role in "Magnum PI" in its later years, and you can hear her real voice there.

As to why she was dubbed... I guess she was probably hired for a her look. Knight Rider -- especially the pilot episode -- used a lot of voice over, so it was relatively easy for them to alter things that didn't work later on.

I caught a Season 2 Fall Guy last night, and Jack Sessums miniatures seem to have infiltrated the show!!! (The episode was "Colt Breaks Out, Part 1", and Colt, Howie and Jodie jumped a rocket-car over a semi. Very Knight Rider! Can't wait for the Trans Ams from the train wreck to start showing up!).
