"Dear Sir

Please return it with a covering letter outlining the fault and where it occurs for inspection & replacement.

PO Box 317

Send them this link and explain that sound effects are known to be missing as a result of an error which Universal has admitted to. This should be proof enough, I would think, that even Universal says they are defective.

An official email from Universal would be better, not sure if a thread would mean anything.

In fact, I am surprised 'loaded' are asking so much for a return, unless they are asking so that they can recall ALL their sets.

I would just give some examples from a couple of episodes and make do with that.

They, themselves, would not check ALL the episodes that have missing sound effects, surely?

Ok thanks guys.

I think I will go with your suggestion Skav send them a letter with the set like they have asked.

I think I will point out "Knight of the chameleon"

that is one of the worst when Michael is chasing the van and they are no engine sounds no turbo boost etc.

I am really surprised that 4 months on that it has yet to be sorted I hope we get there in the end.

I will let you know what happens.

Thanks again.

I also contacted loaded247. As far as they are aware, they don't know of any sound issues with the boxset. Anyone got a comprehensive list of sound-related issues with the boxset. Whet, I suggest you give as many faults as you can.....however I can't see what loaded247 can do apart from offer refunds. Its ultimately up to Universal to sort this mess out.

Check over at Knight Rider archive's website- he had them listed, not too long ago.
KITT: I walked right into that one, didn't I?
Michael: More like Turbo Boosted.

Well I'm confused I received an e mail from loaded 247 saying"thank you for your order of Knight rider season 3 you can check your order progress etc etc"

Well I did send them my set back on Wednesday but nothing to say they have checked my set and are aware of the problems.

I just know I will get another set exactly the same.

Ok I know it is universal's fault it's getting really annoying now.

My envelope came in today, so check your mailboxes regularly.it's a plain manila envelope, with another one inside, with the return address label on the front.I'm going to go get my package ready.

I got my return envelope today too, same thing. I'm going to wait until Monday to send mine. I have I think is it 30 days? So I'll be a little later than most folks here sending it but at least it'll go out.

I'm gonna miss KITT vs. KARR and Knight & Knerd - my two favs on Season 3. :) But I hope they won't take this long sending the corrected S3's back!

When you guys get yours back, do let us know what they are like.

I'll give them 8 weeks before I complain. :) It's going to Dallas TX, according to the return envelope, and I'm in NY State. And you know how slow stuff like this can get.

8 weeks is PLENTY of time.

Well, I sent out my DVD set in the mail today. We'll see. They said in the e-mail that I'd only have to wait 2 - 4 weeks from when *I* mail the set back. But that seems awful quick. We'll see.

Anyone send theirs back yet?

How comes you received another set, whet?

Did it have something to do with them sending you two emails that confirmed you placed orders for the set when you ordered the last one?

nighthawk, there was a problem with the audio of the dvds. when they removed some of the songs due to licensing reasons, they removed the audio sound effects too. some episodes had some, one or 2 had most of em, some eps had NONE. So universal is asking people to send in their dvds and they will send out repressed ones that have the sound fx back in.

Well what hapened Skav, I sent the fitsr one back with a letter telling them the sound faults and that Universal was aware of the problem and as far as I knew they were sorting it out.

So basicly they just sent me another set, which of course has the same faults.

There wasn't really any point in them sending you another until it was confirmed the sets were revised but I guess they thought they were up to that point.

At least you have to commend them for giving it another try.

I agree Skav.

As i pointed out to loaded247 in my e mail maybe if they contact universal about the problem they could get a fresh stock of the corrected sets.

I think Iversal realy needs to replace the stock that company's such as loaded247 have.

I still can't belive that they relased the same problem set on region 2.

what's going on with them I wonder?

Update, I have recvived another e mail from loaded247"sorry to hear you are having problem's with the set, please return dor a refund as we have not had any other's sent back"

In other word's nobody has bothered about their set havving missing sound effects.

Oh well I did try.

Better yet, contact universal so that you can get a corrected replacement. I don't think they will ship out a replacement set to vendors, at least for a long time, as they figure not everyone will be complaining about it. :?

Even if they do get it out to the venders quickly, at least you'll have yours from the original source.

hmm good idea, trouble is I wanted the R1 I can't realy ask Universal for one of those.

I suppose I could settle for a R2 version if it was pefrect.
