Why was KARR's voicebox Gray?
Does anyone know why KARR's voicebox in Trust Doesn't Rust gray, I mean it looks like they just threw something together at the last minute. Also it looks like it sticks out.

Somebody sure wanted KARR to look good and do the job right by season three. Whereas, they cheated...badly...in Trust Doesn't Rust, by taking advantage of having more then one KITT car around to work with.
I'll never stop thinking it horribly odd that in one of the VERY FEW shots where we truly get to see the dash actually talking in sync with the voice, is the one where it's KARR doing the talking...via a single, red flashing light. (And, it's a reflection off the seats, to boot.)

Shortly after they show the full KARR dash in KVK, they show it activating and you can see KITT's red voice box, so there are oh so many errors, the TDR KARR was extremely tacky though...
Another funny thing is the seat with a big chunk out of the side appears as KARR in TDR as well as a few other Season 1 episodes as KITT, I believe you can see it when Bonnie is forced to calibrate KARR...
Yesterday when Slammin' Sammy's was on UHD, I noticed a big hole in KITTs ceiling right before they are going to attempt the jump over the cars while in motion... How could they miss these glaring problems? Don't tell me because they didn't think it would be on DVD someday, you could easily see these errors back in the day...

I agree about the bit in TDR where KARR is talking and red is reflecting off the seat that is stupid also after he activates himself in KVK where you see his nice dash activate in the picture i posted it does show more of the dash activating and its reused footage of KITT's dash I hated that they make a perfectly good KARR dash they use it like once for a full shot and through the rest of the episode its just voicebox.

My only potential answer to that one is short cutting for the sake of time.spyhunter wrote:Yesterday when Slammin' Sammy's was on UHD, I noticed a big hole in KITTs ceiling right before they are going to attempt the jump over the cars while in motion... Making a television show must be hard on time constraints. Especially with a show that needs an hour a week, involves lots of stunts, finding whole casts per episode, new locations all the time and all the mess. Fixing errors, in some cases, could mean the loss of a whole day.
Though, the common errors that went on way to regularly in the editing suite shouldn't have required THAT much effort to fix...
...Did the writers just not put in the proper cue marker requests or were they editing without watching? I mean, if the car is stopped...THEN going into motion, why should the gear shift go from D to P??? It happened too often. In TDR, I so wish they would edit out the transmission shifting from Park to Drive while KITT is already in motion before going after KARR with Michael on his roof...

There has been past debate on whom truly is responsible for the AI's of the Knight vehicles. True. Kitt has been hinted at being all Bonnie's work. But, Karr was very similar to Kitt...even somewhat advanced in comparison to the original Kitt. Which begs to ask just how many unseen people were involved with the KARR/KITT projects, anyhow. It's not even ruled out that the core AI programming was a purchased US Government project.
Remember that Wilton Knight had the dream/vision and had the funding, but probably none of the technical skills at creating hardware, nor software. What he lacked, he bought. Nobody ever said that everything Foundation was original Foundation. For the most part, it simply wasn't needed for the show.

Wrong picture
I love that picture of KARRs new dash(Picture above). But on my Season 3 DVD it´s gone! It´s a picture of KITTs dashboard from Knightmares(I presume) Anyone else got this? Is the picture above from season 3 dvd? I Mean, they should be the same! Concerned and Angry!

Yup, the picture above (KARRs dash with yellow VOX) is on the season 3 DVDs (Region 1 & 2).Andela wrote:I love that picture of KARRs new dash(Picture above). But on my Season 3 DVD it´s gone! Opps, my fault. It was in there earlier, but the pic from knightmares is there when he says "Oh man you won´t belive this dash". When they have buildt a dash they should use it for more than one shot(though it´s a really nice shot) =) All those studio shots of the dash with the right light and everything are so beautiful. They should have taken a day or to to just film short clips like that(100´s of em) and then just throw them in to various episodes. A few new start up sequenses maybe!? Wishful thinking.
