Knight Rider Toys - Where are they now?

Post by soulman1980 » Sat May 20, 2006 1:01 am

I had just about everything Knight Rider as a kid, now years later I'd love to get a complete collection.
There are a few toys I can't remember what the name was given to them.
There are a few things I had:
A Knight Rider Big-Wheel
Knight Rider Pedal Car (but it wasn't one representative of super pursuit mode), it was a standard knight rider car with a voice system.
I also had the Knight Rider 2000 model with Michael Knight figure (I see a lof these on Ebay going for a lot more then I expected).

The one toy I never had, that I always wanted and I don't see anywhere around ebay is the set with the knight rider car and a truck in which you could drive the car through the truck. It was heavily advertised on TV at the time. I can't remember the name of the set or who made it. Can anyone help? I just remember KITT turbo boosting through the toy tractor-trailer.

I also had, what I THINK was a Knight Rider car, it was a little bit bigger then the Knight Rider 2000 model with figure. It was a black transam that had pop-up headlights that actually illuminated. I can't recall if it was a real KITT car or just a model of a black transam, but if anyone can help... please do.

Thanks for the help!

I THINK it was called the slam shifter or turbo booster stunt set. It came with a launcer that looked like a futuristic garage looking thing that kit slid into, you then slide the upper part of the launcer forward and KITT would fly out of the launcher. It came with the launcher and KITT and the semi which said COMTRON on the side and had a breakaway side panels that KITT could 'crash' through. It also came with just the launcher and KITT by themselves.

As for the second one, it was just a black firebird that they put KNIGHT RIDER decals on it to cash in on the popularity of the show.

I'm sure its the Kenner Knight 2000 Crash Set. I got mine in original packaging and KITT jumps through the side of the Comtron truck using the launcher.

I rember seeing this toy in either the Sears or J C Penny wishbooks in either 1982 or 1983. I do belive that this toy was based on a scene from the pilot episode.

i had one of those white trucks with the red stripes (like the comtron trucks) where kitt would fly through it.. it never really worked too well teh car would either not hit the truck or fly over it, or wouldnt crash through it would hit the doors and stop...

i remember a toy i always wanted which is from the dukes of hazzard, and would have been really cool for knight rider, remember the smash-em cars with the ripcords and you would crash the cars into each other and parts would fly off, there was a general lee/boss hogg car set, and i think it would have been really cool to see a KITT and KARR set
