How KR is so unPC

Post by fred » Mon Mar 27, 2006 12:43 am

I have to laugh at the lines in some early season 1 episodes. You could not get away with some of those on TV today. Take Slammin' Sammys Stunt Show Spectacular, in one scene Bonnie is talking to Michael and makes a comment along the lines of 'stuck between a rock and a hard place', Michael replies 'I know what that feels like' - referring to Bonnie. Perhaps it's just me but lines like this crack me up. There are many more examples...

I believe it's a slang term for being in a very difficult, if not impossible, situation.

Knight Rider didn't have a lot of subtle humor, but I do like the "rock/hard place" line. After Michael says "I know what that's like", Bonnie turns to him and says "WHAT?!" Not that she's offended; it's more along the lines of "that doesn't even make any sense!" Michael was trying to come on to her using some clever innuendo, fell flat on his face, and Bonnie called him on it. Nice.
