Self Control was a cover!!!

Just found what I thought was a pretty darn decent cover of Laura Branigan's Self Control which was featured prominatly in season 3, and found out it was really the original version of that song! It's done by a group from Italy called Raff. Branigan's other big hit Gloria was also a cover from another Italian group from the 70s.

Heading back outa KR country now. Just so shocked I'd thought I'd share. Hope it hasn't been brought up in the past.

You'll find all of the songs played on KR are done by the studio itself. They just buy the rights to the song and redo it/play it themselves.

Don Peake tells this story every year at the Nats. He's an awesome well of info for how they did the music on the show.

No, this isn't the mix used on the show. This version was out before Branigan recorded hers. I'm just shocked that Branigan's version was not the first version of that song.
