George Barris

Originally, the first two seasons featured a single black Trans-Am that had been built by Michael Scheffe for Universal Studios. For the 1985 season, Barris redid the car with more extravagant additions, including Super Pursuit Mode which featured wings, scoops and gave KITT the ability to travel at faster speeds. He also gave KITT a convertible roof. Barris is also famous for building such custom cars as the TV series Batmobile, the Munster Koach, the trucks in Jurassic Park as well as many other cars.
