Hoff 'Pipex' Promotional Postcards!!!

Post by RobWolf » Sat Aug 12, 2006 5:01 pm

I thought you guys would want to know about this. You've by now seen the Hoff's various adverts for Pipex. Well, I went to see Miami Vice at the cinema last week (ignore the critics, it is GOOD), and I got quite a surprise when I, as is SOP when I go to the cinema, stopped at the free postcard rack (UK cinemas have free postcard racks, FYI.)
There are THREE, count 'em, THREE different Hoff 'Pipex' promotional postcards!! I will attempt to get these scanned in for you ASAP (apologies if this is old news and has already been done.)

Postcard 1 features the Hoff in his leather jacket and Pipex t-shirt, giving a thumbs up. The Text reads:

Hoffermations!
Repeat daily in front of a reflective surface.
1. I am very good looking.
2. My chest hair is bountiful.
3. I have a lot of Hoff to give.

Postcard 2 is the 'Instant Hoff Fan Mail' card. It features three statements with multiple choice tick boxes for you to finish the statement;

Dear Hoff, I love you:
*so much
*so so much
*more than your entire back catalogue

My favourite thing about you is your:
*smile
*abundant chest hair
*hair hair

If I had the time I would:
*write you a song
*build you a shrine
*hang outside your house with binoculars

Then there is a 'Love from' and a blank space for you to sign your name.

Postcard 3 (my personal favourite) is a 'Colour in Hoff!' card. It is a plain white card with a black line drawing of topless Hoff. It is a colour-by-numbers picture, and allthough there are numbers all over the Hoff, they are all the same number: 1. The coulour guide reads:

1. Tahiti Brown

So, my UK friends, get yourself down to your local cinema and snap them up (I hope I've given you enough time). I myself got two sets of the three cards, so maybe after the cards are long since unavailable, I might be persuaded to part with a set.

WARNING: The postcard rack in my local cinema is past the point where the staff member checks your tickets. I can't speak for the layouts of all UK cinemas, but you may have to actually pay to see a film if you want to get your hands on the Hoff

Eek, would have to disagree about Miami Vice there, RobWolf. I thought it sucked. The movie was 2hrs and 15 mins long and has one action scene at the beginning and another at the end.

The rest was full of boring talk and sex scenes.

The most disappointing film this year for me so far.

But that's just me.

I go to the Odeon :D

Anyway, I scanned the cards in but managed to cut the edges off all three! The only one that came out ok is the card back (it's the same on all three.)

I'll get the other three done ASAP
