Blind Spot question

I picked up my KR DVDs this past Friday. Wow, the clarity is awesome!

I was watching Blind Spot today and was wondering.

In the begining where John gets shot next to KITT, the one gun shot is not silenced, however when Michael plays back the tape for Julie, there are two shots and they are silenced.

Was this the same in the original or CH version? I am at college and don't have my CH tapes here.
