Just out of curiosity, has anyone ever seen inside KITTs engine bay? Out of all the episodes in Season 1 you never get to see in there. What does his engine look like

No episode in the entire series ever showed what was beneath KITT's hood. Its supposed to house a turbine-based engine probably similar in appearance to the 1989 Batmobile.

The engine is probably an ordinary stock design, as seen under the hood of the 1:18 scale die cast KITT toy.
I don't need no "Wizard Of Oz Car" putting me behind the 8 ball, for nothing. LOL (The Rev)
All they did was blow away a "Ringmaster", they didn't even steal any hamburgers. LOL (Michael)

You can see one of KITT's real engines in the episode "Give Me Liberty... Or Give Me Death" from season 1, when a bomb is placed in the engine bay of what is supposed to be the orange Dodge Charger.

They show a few brief peeks in "A Plush Ride" and "Return to Kadiz" and "Trust Doesn't Rust".
If you don't make a difference, you are not the Knight Rider.

They showed a clear shot of kitts motor in Goliath part II infact the part michael rips off and says its part of his turbine is in fact the aircleaner cover of the cross fire (dual throttlebodys with there own sepreate airfilters the part mike holds in his hand is the cover panel)
Michael: "You know, your as much fun as a divorce, which is not a bad idea!"
KITT: "I want custody of ME!"
