Decided to watch KR 2000 again and I stumbled across this fanedit of it: https://vimeo.com/158726790
I watched it yesterday with my family, and I liked it better than the actual thing...but the movie still sucked in general.

Re: Knight Rider 2000 Edited Version
Interesting fan edit. I liked some of the changes he made, but others (like cutting Devon's death and any reference to it afterwards) were not only needless, they detracted from the overall point of the movie. Devon's death, while shocking to so many fans, served to do several things. 1) It elevated Watts' character to one of the best KR villains rather than just being another "villain of the week" by showing that he could be ruthless, calculating, and stone cold, 2) It served to deal a crippling blow to not only Michael personally, but to FLAG as a whole and 3) It served to show that while Michael could be wounded horribly by losing someone so pivotal in his life (again), he could come back from it and show that he truly believed in Wilton's dream that one man can make a difference.

Oh how KR 2000 raised my hopes way back then. Only to dash it into the mud with extreme ideas, slaughtering Devon and just generally seeming like a mis-placed sci-fi.

I don't know, I didn't really like the movie either way, but I was actually kind of ok with KITT's new body. I wasn't ok with the fact that all the features of the Knight 4000 were essentially useless and served to be as some sort of pointless gimmick, like the virtual reality. Even worse, putting a futuristic AI like KITT in a futuristic world of 2000 made KITT seem like nothing. Didn't Glen Larson not like the movie either?
