Question for prospective 08/09 Mustang owners...

Post by pheonix_knight » Sat Sep 20, 2008 2:12 pm

Is the screen that was used as Kitts VM and general display area going to feature as real option on mustangs (or something similar)?

Of course I dont mean as a VM for a talking car, I mean for features like SatNav or radio display info....

I don't believe Mustangs come with a Nav option.

Do you think it will be possible to order one from the factory with the Turbo Boost option or maybe a glovebox first aid kit?

Also I wondered if after youve owned it for a while and get fed up with it, rather than trade it in, could it turn into the car you want?

There's a $2000 option for Mustangs that give you GPS Navigation. The screen is about 6.5" (might be 7", but I doubt it) in size and sits where the Shaker system will sit in standard models.

Overall, I wasn't that impressed with it when I bought mine, so I'm went with the standard radio.

Ford's NAV system is regarded as one of the best in the business and has won awards. The next-gen nav system done by Sony is supposed to top the current.

Yes Drake that is right. My future Brother-In Law just got a mustang about a month ago with the Nav option. It is one of the best NAV systems I have seen and used. Very user friendly now all that ford has to do is put Sync in it!

What i was getting at (as someone away from the US and Mustang ownership) is the screen from the pilot...

Is it going to be a real option ??(obviously not displaying an AI units VM but you get me drift...)

No the screen from Feb. Movie takes out the HVAC controls and Hazard Etc. Buttons. LCD screens for production vehicles do not usually exceed the Double Din size 7" Max.

Pheonix, you might want to look at this AVG-VDP1 product from PIONEER:

For $400 I think it's quite worth the price, don't you think?
