KITTs scanner rarely questioned

Post by K2000kid » Thu Feb 06, 2003 4:23 pm

I only remember one episode where Michael was asked about the funny red light, I think he said it was a garage door opener.

Were there any others?

In Ring of Fire, he loses a few lights from the scanner and a few scenes later there are totally different lights that are missing.

In soul survivor we see kitts scanner having to streams and basicle intersepting.I'm guessing the scanner had a few presets. The most commonly used is the one we see in most of the episodes.I read somewhere the scanner was changed alot cause it was easily busted or because throughout the series they got it to look better later in the series.

Is this meant to read: "two streams and basically intercepting"...?

That scanner operation was changed to show that Kitt had been taken control of by the whiz-kid and was under his remote-control.

I too, have wondered why more people never questioned Michael about KITT's scanner. Or why the cop's didn't pull him over for having an illegal light on the front of his car. There are even episodes where people just casually accept the dashboard too.

It's dramatic license... we rarely see Michael stopping for gas or going to bed. It's just assumed that these things happen off-camera. Things would get pretty boring if every single episode had the same conversation of Michael explaining KITT to the damsel of the week.

It's sort of along the lines of 'do people go to the bathroom on the Enterprise'? ;)

I many times wondered by people didnt question KITT himself more. Many times the helpless damsels in distress would ask "wow your car can talk?", and michael would provide some answer to the effect of "yes....it's very technial", after which they would accept it and move on, without asking another question. I just found it odd how they werent impressed by it more.
