Im so tired of the stupidity!

I just recently read the posts on the new Knight Rider myspace page & its like months ago all over again. When are people gonna get over the fact that KITT is a Mustang? Seriously if those people would stop to think what other car could they have possibly used? The new Camero isnt even in production & wouldnt have worked, the Corvette is out of the question so that leaves us with what american muscle car in production? In my opinion i think they made a excellent choice especially when you see the car in action instead of looking at pics. Another thing i keep seeing is people saying i like the old show better,they ruined it, what were they thinking, etc. Ok this is funny to me because the new show isnt even out yet & yes those of us who grew up with the old show & new fans alike will always have the original as our favorite but to say something like that is just plain stupid. A true Knight Rider fan no matter what will give any new Knight Rider show a chance! And what bothers me is & i hope doesnt happen is that people like this isnt the shows downfall & never gets picked up! Id love to sit down on Friday night & watch Knight Rider again, this time with my young son! Sorry i just had to vent because im so tired of seeing these moronic posts everywhere! People never fail to amaze me i guess. Do we really live in a age of such stupidity or is it just something else?

Welcome to the internet.

It's not that people are stupid, it's just that sites like MySpace and the NBC pages are often visited by people who just stumble upon it, or come in, post, and leave. A forum like Knight Rider Online tends to attract return visitors who form a bit of a community. So here on KRO, the discussions tend to evolve over time. If you came here right when the Mustang was first announced, you would see a lot of negative comments. Just as many people visiting the NBC are seeing the Mustang for the first time, and they reacting the same way.

Take some comfort in knowing that as much as people like to complain, I would guess the vast majority of them will at least tune into NBC to take a look. Afterwards, many still will hate the show. Many will be converted. And many people who were excited about the show will be disappointed. And many who were looking forward to it will like it even more. And then there will be a whole new round of debates.

I could not agree more! We should be happy our beloved franchise is coming back and that there was a network rep who though... hmmm that show used to rock... it can do again now... after 25!!!! years!!!!! Lets be happy it is back... and that they were smart enough to take a seriously cool looking American muscle car! Plus... be happy that Ford actually WANTS to cooperate in this series... unlike Pontiac which dropped the show (sort of) and did not want to be involved with it and asked for the car not to be called a Pontiac in the original show. This new incarnation has everything it needs to become a hit, action... nice cast, cool car and most of all... the best series title ever "Knight Rider"!!! Cheers people!

Very well said, i agree with you 100%. But people are always going to have different opinions thats whats great about forums. In life i dont think you can every make everyone happy, and the average person hates change. Hopefully after feb 17th a large percentage of people are happy with the outcome off all the new changes and ideas.

it looks like most of the people that are making the stupid comments are young people that dont know too much about knight rider other than it being a trans am, most of those people commenting aren't true fans at all. i left a rebuttal comment on myspace telling everybody that they dont have a clue as to whats going on in the real knight rider world.

I agree with everything you are saying GarthKnight, and it annoys me because those people (and there are still some on here) will go in and just want to pick holes in it without giving it a chance. I personally will go in (whenever I get to see it) looking forward to what appears to be the first proper sequel to the original series. Forget 2000, 2010 and TKR, I didn't like any of them (but would pick 2010 if pushed believe it or not!) but this looks excellent from what we've seen so far.

However, you went on to say this:

Surely you can not say this before you've seen it, in just the same way those others can't say what they are saying? lol, I'm not comparing you to them, but just that this has every chance of becoming our favourite Knight Rider, you never know...
