Well...here's my report from our dinner get-together with KNIGHT RIDER producer Ron Martinez. We met up at a place called The Tilted Kilt. Think Hooters with kilts instead of hot pants. It was a nice laid back evening with great friends & good food.

Definitely looks like a fun time for all. We have a Tilted Kilt out in the L.A. area but I have never been.

Did Mike (Dark Talon) bring samples of the Michael Knight figure he's working on? It's a pretty interesting project:

How did this come together? Does Ron live out there? Was he on vacation? Did he just have a really long layover at the airport?

Michael,
No, Mike (Dark Talon) did not bring his Michael Knight figure. I actually thought about asking him to bring it. On my way to the restaurant. LOL. I'm sure he would have brought it if I had asked. He's a great guy.

This all came together because I wanted to do a little something before the holidays with some KNIGHT RIDER folks. Pure and simple. Yes, Ron now lives in the Atlanta area. He's been here for almost 4 years. When I was planning my event in 2010, I heard Ron was now in Atlanta, I got his phone number from a mutual friend in the custom car business and called him. I asked him if he wanted to be the guest at the event and he said yes. We talked for nearly 3 hours. What a wonderful, down to earth man he is. He has a ton of behind the scenes stories about KNIGHT RIDER and the many other movies and tv shows he's worked on. He's been to every event since. Anyone that's been to SOUTHERN KNIGHTS ATLANTA can tell you what a treat it is to have him there. I am proud to call Ron Martinez my friend. Besides SOUTHERN KNIGHTS ATLANTA, I have spent time with Ron at local classic car events and events out of state.

Am I bragging? You betcha. I have made some great friends in this hobby. Celebrity and otherwise. Let me relate a little story. One of our guests at this years SOUTHERN KNIGHTS ATLANTA was Rebecca Holden. Celebrities meet many, many fans. When I was at the VIP party at the LA KNIGHT RIDER event, I saw Rebecca arrive from across the room. She mingled with the fans trying to get to everyone. When she got near where I was she looked over, locked eyes with me and screamed, MARK!. She then ran over and gave me a big hug. I was so touched that she remembered me. I have had similar experiences with other celebrities that have attended SOUTHERN KNIGHTS ATLANTA. The secret is treating them just like anyone else. Rebecca sent the following after the event...

Hi Mark, I just wanted to tell you thank you again so much for the great time in your beautiful Southern City. You put on such a terrific event and I know how much hard work goes into it. But we all felt the warmth and love and everyone had a fabulous time..you made us all feel like family. Thank you again for my "ComLinks" ...which I will absolutely cherish. Keep up the acting, and who knows, maybe we'll get to work together someday! Hope to see you again soon. Hope to see y'all again soon!
Much love,
Rebecca

For anyone that hasn't been to a SOUTHERN KNIGHTS ATLANTA event, I invite you to attend. It's always the last weekend of July. I will start putting things together after the holidays. I hope to see many of you there.

About the figure, I'm not a member of KR Revolution... Is Mike taking orders for that Michael Knight figure or is he doing just that one figure? I think it looks really great!

Knight Racer,
Due to the content and subject matter, these stories are best heard in person, rather than posted online.
