yeah, the Two Players mode is a ''side'' game, the main thing for now is the Single Player i can see
hows it going?
the engine is ready? the maps are done? or just working on mission scripts?

Re: Knight Rider: The Fan Game
We are still finishing up our artwork, Daan is on holiday but he has completed the brand new Bonnie model which looks amazing. I'm working on the 1977 Cadillac Limo that was used by Devon threw out the series, and then its on to the 1983 Thunderbird Drones that will play a major role in the game. I still need to finish my semi interior set as well, its about 75% done and just needs uvmapped and textured. As far as levels they are not all completely assembled, but our assets and buildings are pretty much done. My city level is rather dated now and I'm trying to make the streets and buildings more modern as far as detail goes but also trying to remember my target audience is people with slower computers. It's a ton of work!
Code wise we have been working on what I feel is a nice mix between GTA3 and GTA4 for the character controls. Michael can climb, fall, sneak in the shadows, he can jump and dive from tall heights, swim, push and pull objects, he has combo fight moves, can pick up environment objects and use them as weapons etc. All about 3500 lines of code and still improving. Still smoothing out Micheal's animations before we are ready to show it off, though if you ask "Knight Racer" it absolutely sucks, so whether or not everyone else likes it or not we'll just have to wait and see when it's more polished.

Re: Knight Rider: The Fan Game
Daan is on holiday lol, meant vacation been watching way too much Dr Who lately. But yes Michael has 3 camera modes, FPS or first person pov, third person orbit (think world of Warcraft), and over the shoulder very similar to gears of war/god of war games KITT has rear far view, rear view close, front cam, hood cam, cockpit cam, and orbit cam. We're hoping to have a neat replay feature to let you rewind and use slow motion, change camera views, and save and save replays by a simple XML file. For cockpit view you will see Michaels hands on the steering wheel and he will press interior buttons. Daan made animations for using all of the pods and consoles in the game so it will look really awesome on replays!

KI3T and Mike Traceur are going to be unlockable if I remember correctly.

Re: Knight Rider: The Fan Game
That is 100% correct. We're open to a KR2008 game. We actually make a few nods to KR 2008 a little bit in our story line. Some familiar faces working for FLAG make a few guest star appearances. We do tie a lot into KR2K but we ignore the illogical fact that it took place in the year of 2000, we treat it as though it took place in 1991 and TKR hasn't happen yet. Our game leaves you to believe TKR will eventually happen. Sorry getting off topic, future games would be rather easy. All of our code would be done for the first game, it would just be a matter of us making new art, designing levels, and creating new game menus and user interface. I think it would be cool to take a stab at a KR2008 fan fiction season 2. I can tell you already I would be bringing back the FLAG Semi and make it all modern and cool looking. We would upgrade KITT to the latest GT500 (and of course have all other versions unlockable) and we would bring back an older Michael Knight to run the Foundation. I think it would be even cool to have a mission where Michael is a playable character, and we reunite him with Classic KITT to rescue his son and KI3T. It would be rather easy to pull off the morphing effect from the pilot as well to allow KI3T to change to other cars for stealth and different terrains. I really hated the transformers stuff. But yeah I think it would be a lot of fun!Superman111994 wrote:KI3T and Mike Traceur are going to be unlockable if I remember correctly.

Re: Knight Rider: The Fan Game
This game is looking great so far, MsKen. I can't wait to play it. I'm going to ask a question that hope you haven't answered 100 times before, but I couldn't find it in the thread. Will the game support the use of a pc game controller similar to a ps3/xbox 360 controller. I hope this question doesn't make me sound to ignorant. The last time I played a PC based driving game, it was Need for Speed Hot Pursuit on my old 486. I've been a console player since then.

Re: Knight Rider: The Fan Game
Yup, I asked this a while ago. Ken said he was testing the game with a 360 controller, so there is support for it.

Re: Knight Rider: The Fan Game
Yup Xbox controller support is included day 1. I'm working hard to finish the website, have to understand I have a lot on my plate and when I get to the website I can't help but feel guilty that I should be working on something more productive like coding haha. But the website will have a nice FAQ to answers a lot of your questions. I may just need to take a break from animating and just focus my time to wrap it up over the next couple of days.

Thanks, MsKen. Awesome!!! Now all that did was make me more impatient for the game. I'm sure this game will be well worth the wait.

Re: Knight Rider: The Fan Game
The game will have an input manager, you'll have to map your custom keys but any game pad that windows/mac can see will be useable. I've used motionjoy and used a bluetooth PS3 controller before so its nothing difficult as long as you have it setup correctly.

Re: Knight Rider: The Fan Game
We'll have updates soon guys. I worked on the website all day today and made great progress. Soon you'll be able to get steady regular updates from our site, instead of constantly checking this forum thread for updates I'm sure uninterested parties are tired of constantly seeing this thread at the top of the creative & merchandise forum lol

Re: Knight Rider: The Fan Game
Well to put it a better way I hope no one is annoyed lol Wanted to also clear up some confusion in case we have created any. Some of you guys think the count down on the website is the countdown to the release date of the game. To the contrary, the countdown is set with the 30th anniversary of Knight Rider, and is our set target date to open the website to the public. It has no relation to the release date of our game, as of now that date is To Be Announced at a later date. We think it will be a while before our game gets released to the web. Originally we wanted to have the game ready for the Knight Rider anniversary but due to poor feedback on our original game we have changed the game from the ground up to be more like GTA rather then a simple top down beat em up puzzle game we had originally intended (see the first page of this thread for more info on that version) to release this year. With that big of a change taking place, the development time on this project is now much longer then we anticipated.

WOW, The top left two look amazingly like the actors. Not sure who the one on the right is though?
Bonnie, Devon and Michael, look pretty good although Bonnie looks a bit man-ish.
All great likenesses though. Nice job.
