Yes it was glens choice originally. I just donnot see kitt as a import car or a 4 Dr car.

Now I never said that. Lol I love some of the import cars. K.r.o. fited perfect for a ferrari import. but it just don't fit with kitt in my opinion but hey everyone has their own opinions.

Re: This is how KITT should look like
A new dash should look like a progression or evolution from the original season 4 dash. Similar with its origin visible but modern and slick. Where the remake went wrong was there were no buttons and screens. That was the appeal of the 80s. Anyone who buys a car, gets in and looks over the dash at the displays and vast array of buttons with initials on it.
Re: This is how KITT should look like
ok, sybaris Knight Rider 2008 wasn't a remake, but a continuation. and no screens?! that is what a Heads Up Display is! as for buttons, the Knight 3000 didn't need em as you could tell him what you need to do and he does it for you, because he has bluetooth technology; making buttons outdated and worthless

Re: This is how KITT should look like
Although the K3000 (post-pilot) had the Heads Up Display, I preferred the IPad-like screens on the Pilot. I seen a mockup of a combination of the HUD and the IPad like screen somewhere, I thought it was awesome.

Re: This is how KITT should look like
I loved Pilot KI3T's iPad like screen, and Series KI3T's Voice Orb, so much; I decided to combine the two for My KI2T design's interior. As for the hud, that was a pretty sweet idea on Master Key Films' part, as it showed how much time technology has had to improve since the 80's and the original series....

Re: This is how KITT should look like
Its already been done right using the Challenger. The car already has a rear end to accommodate a single taillight blackout in order to keep familiarity with the 80s Trans Am. it just needs black rims and a scanner..

Re: This is how KITT should look like
9 months ago, in the "Best KITT Car" topic, my opinion was that the 2012 Dodge Challenger SRT8 392 would make the best KITT car. While I still feel that way, I came across this topic and had another idea what KITT should look like. That idea is the 1988 Dodge Daytona Shelby Z. Even though it was built in 1988, it has the futuristic shape that would make it perfect for a FLAG vehicle. As futuristic as it looks, however, it has one problem:
It's a front wheel drive (FWD) car with a 4-cylinder engine.
While I don't have anything against FWD cars, Michael Knight didn't get his business done with FWD and a 4-cylinder engine. If a 1988 Dodge Daytona Shelby Z was chosen to be the platform for KITT, it would need to be converted to RWD and given a more powerful engine. If I was a Knight Industries engineer working with FLAG, I would choose the following products:
1. Art Morrison Max-G chassis
2. Tremec Magnum 6-speed
3. Arrington Performance 3G Hemi (426 Stroker)
4. Forgeline VR3S Wheels
The car and wheels would be colored black, naturally.
I got this idea from a project involving a similar Shelby Z Hemi conversion by a client of a Pennsylvania company known as Exline Custom Auto, though it should be noted that Exline isn't using an Art Morrison chassis. If anyone's interested in the URL about this Exline project, just let me know.
Meanwhile, I attached a picture of a 1988 Dodge Daytona Shelby Z to illustrate my point.

Every time I see that car outside I keep thinking it tried holding its breath really hard to morph itself into a trans am but just couldn't complete the look.

Given how futuristic the Daytona looks, it wouldn't have to morph itself into a Trans Am.Knight Racer wrote:Every time I see that car outside I keep thinking it tried holding its breath really hard to morph itself into a trans am but just couldn't complete the look.

Re: This is how KITT should look like
every car mentioned is missing the use of an NRE 632 bbc. Of course my plan is using one with a custom tubular front chassis and the current base 3rd gen firebird. Imaginably, and entire body using 3cm stamped titanium as a chassis would be better.

Yeah, that's definitely a C7 Corvette I can get behind. Of course, with the Z06 having made its bow at the Detroit Auto Show, a future iteration of KITT could potentially be one of the most sleek, yet aggressive cars currently on America's production lines.

I think if they had a new KR they should make KITT be a 2011 dodge charger. I think it would look just awesome.

Re: This is how KITT should look like
Well, one of the issues I've always had with new cars for K.I.T.T., is the visability factor.
Michael could sit in K.I.T.T. across the street and not draw attention from the bad guys -- the car sort of blended in.
But in today's world, that model/look, is fast becoming out-dated and now any bad guy might take a second look ("Hey, look at that old calssic!").
So many of these proposed K.I.T.T. ideas are overly fancy, shiney, aerodynamic like they are going to be reaching moch speeds, expensive looking, and would stand out like a sore thumb even in today's world of newer cars.
(and a lot of them are too low to the ground; a filming model would have to be jerked up real high, making it look weird, to do turbo boost landing shots; in fact, that might have to happen anyway)
It's the belivability factor.

And when things appeared to get better, they got worse, and everyday was a day to cry.
