The Next Release of Columbia House DVDs - I'm confused

Post by Joe Huth » Fri Jun 06, 2003 9:36 am

About 6 weeks ago, I received a letter from Columbia House saying that new volumes of Knight Rider DVDs were ready to be released, and I would receive the first one in about a month. Already having the first 5 CH DVDs, I was excited to get them. Fast forward to last week: I got another letter saying that there were no more Knight Rider DVDs and they would inform me if more were produced! Anyone else having this trouble? Anyone else receive any KR DVD volumes past "Goliath"?

I wonder what's involved in the creation of a DVD? Sure, there are those menu's to create. It's like creating a mini web site. I suppose there is that 5.1 audio thing to create. But, how hard could it be to create a commercial grade DVD and why does it take so long???

Is there a number to call for their Customer service? Perhaps they need to figure out what they are talking about, it sounds if the right hand doesn't know what the left is doing.

I got this same letter. I called them and was told there was a computer error with this latest letter and that the additional DVD's are on back order.

Weird explanation but that's it anyhow

I need all of the Knight Rider episodes. Does anybody have a website where I could purchase them on DVD?

Any help would be greatly apreciated!

The Columbia House website is somewhat less than helpful. Are there 6 DVD's available? I can only find one and there is no information provided.

Since KR was only recorded in stereo, it won't naturally be in 5.1 audio, however it can be remixed.

But I doubt they would do that with a show like kr.

Probably just normal stereo which still happens to sounds cool on dvd.

I don't understand why they just don't do the seasonal box sets like are bing done for other shows nowadays. Yes, KR is 20 years old but still, given that the eps are available in good quality they should release them like that, right? I wouldn't want to spend $30 on a few episodes if I could just spend $130 and get a whole season!

Plus they could jazz them us with KITT-dash menus and extras like intervies with DH and Glen Larson!

Just a wonderment, nothing against Columbia.

I received the same letter from them.

Despite several emails and ordering from their website, I have yet to receive any of volumes 6-15. You may recall my DVD thread back in February:

http://www.knightrideronline.com/phpbb/ ... 61&start=0

I still think the best way to attain them is to order directly from their toll free phone number with a credit card. That way you can see when the debit hits your card, and then you'll know that they are on their way. When I get the bonus I'm expecting from work, I'm going to give them another call and order and at the same time find the actual episode names of volumes 6-15.

Did Columbia House release all of the episodes on VHS in 98?

They created 10 in about '98, then 10 more a few years after that...

Let's hope that eventually they will release them all, and on DVD as well... As pokey as they are, it seems like another company will beat them in no time...
