Does anybody know the name of the Cajun song played by the band in 'Ring of Fire' (season two)? Or can anybody understand/translate some of the lyrics, so I can find out?
Thanks to anyone who can help!

Thanks for suggesting these songs, but I already know those (thanks to KI's old site!) What I was hoping to find was the Cajun folk song (in French) that the band are playing onscreen, when Michael, Kitt and Layla drive into the woods. There's some sort of party going on, with other Cajuns dancing to a fiddle and accordian and a guy singing, and one of the men pulls Layla in to dance. Then Cray shows up and drags Layla away at knife point. I shall try and decipher some of the lyrics, see if that helps.
Thanks for trying!

I think I found something, listen to this youtube video, it's very similar to the Cajun song in Ring of Fire
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=L2NIZexq ... re=related" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
The description says:
This is a beautiful version of the song "PARLEZ NOUS A' BOIRES" by Dewey Balfa
Gotta warn this video has some violence against animals, it's scene from some movie.
Here's another video, it's the song with the album image:

Hey
The first clip looks like Ring of Fire was inspired by this movie

That is possibly the closest match yet!

The lyrics aren't exactly right, to my untrained (and untranslated) ear - the song in the episode mentions the bayou, I think - but the tune is right. Thanks!
The film is 'Southern Comfort' - that scene with the hogs did make me feel a bit sick, even though I know that the animals are killed to be eaten!

I thought that, too!

I wonder if the scriptwriter for 'Ring of Fire' did his 'research' into Cajun settlements by watching the film?

There's the shack filled with dynamite (used by the poachers) which gets blown up, 'gator traps, and of course, men being 'hunted' through the bayou - and when they reach the village at the end, the Cajuns are having a party and playing this song!
