I never said it had the appeal in the same way as KITT but it did appeal to me for some strange reason. But defo not the kitt way.
I think it has something to do with the car itself, it looks a really cool beetle. Very sporty for one!

Actually, there WAS a robot Volkwagen Beetle called Dodo, or Dudu, or something like that. The first movie was called Superbug, Secret Agent. He was similar to KITT in that he was fully computerised, but I don't think he was indestructible, or even spoke. It came out after Disney released Herbie, but it was nowhere near as popular. In fact, for those of you who are interested...

LOL!
Sorry, but seeing that Beetle Turbo Boost just wouldn't do it for me.
And, if it was KITT's CPU that you put in there-do you realize how humiliated he'd be, hahahaha

KITT would probably be as upset as he was in KR2000 when he found out what happened to his old body.

It looks quite nice, I just can't imagine it going head to head with K.A.R.R. or Goliath.

Yay i remember Dodo. I'm only 16 and I could always remember when i was a little baby watching a film with a yellow Beetle in it called Dodo. I always remember it changing into a helicopter. I didn't know wot it was called and so growing up I thought that it was Herbie's girlfriend in one of the movies.
Thanx for that info, I will try and look out for it if it ever comes back on TV.

I have two distinct memories of Superbug. One is a scene where he is in a small alleyway and his wheels all turn 90 degrees and press up against the building walls so he can drive UP between the two buildings.
The other memory is a street race where Superbug uses rockets to fly and land on top of the car they're racing against. As a result they arrived at the destination at the same time, and Superbug's driver won the bet.
The driver had a handheld calculator-device which he used to activate Superbug's features. I don't recall Superbug being "alive" or having any kind of intelligence; he was more like the Mach 5, just a car with lots of cool gizmos.
My memory may be flawed, but those are my recollections.

It sounds like that SuperBug was pretty wierd! I don't think I could ever see KITT as a(n) Beetle that would be just to strange!
