Hasselhoff Puts Final Nail In Knight Rider Coffin
Hey guys! I found this article (http://io9.com/5061767/hasselhoff-puts- ... der-coffin" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;) on a website called "io9". Here's the story in case the link won't work:
The one saving grace that might have swayed people to watch NBC's new Knight Rider series has been ripped out of the cast's hands. David Hasselhoff (who was the main character in the original series) will no longer be appearing as a guest star in some upcoming episodes. It sounds like there was a disagreement about how to handle the character — but seriously, NBC, you couldn't change things up for the Hoff?
In an interview with Buddy TV, the Hoff announced he would not be making the grand cameo, which is pretty much the only reason for making a new Knight Rider in the first place.
"I went in and pitched Knight Rider to the network with all the intentions of coming back as, like, the dad or something. But they decided to go a different route. So I just said 'See ya later and good luck.'"
Sheesh, if this show stinks so bad that not even Hasselhoff will go near it, you know it's circling the bowl. Hoff made Anaconda III, for KITT's sake.

I know that the quote (from Hasselhoff) in the article is old but the fact that he has decided to lay of the grand cameo speaks for itself. It seems as if GST and David were uneven about the character itself.
We'll have to wait for a more in-depth expanation.
(Sorry if this has been posted or discussed earlier)

Re: Hasselhoff Puts Final Nail In Knight Rider Coffin
Something tells me this is recycled news, that comment was made a while ago
Maybe someone else knows the exact time this was said, Hoffs made a couple of comments like that and it was only a couple of his live Hoffspace shows ago he said he was working on something with GST, maybe theyre mixing up the news, anyone know? Neil maybe?
Its been mentioned before months ago, before the backdoor pilot.Knight-Armen wrote: "I went in and pitched Knight Rider to the network with all the intentions of coming back as, like, the dad or something. But they decided to go a different route. So I just said 'See ya later and good luck.'"

I know. The quote it self goes way back.
The article itself was posted on October 10th which is about 1 month ago.

Sounds like someone trying to take an outdated quote and make up something from it. Since that original quote was made, Da Hoff put out a statement on video that said to give the show a chance and GST said at Comic-Con that he had met with Da Hoff about the show. I'm not saying it's a guarantee Da Hoff will return, I'm just saying taking an out of date quote for "new" news is not exactly good journalism.

Sue's not here Neil, but never fear! Uhh, I'm here.
Which I know makes you miss Sue even more, haha.
This was discussed, like a month ago. Actually, looking at the dates, it was almost exactly a month ago. This idiot is making up a story using quotes from back after the pilot aired. They, like the idiot who made up this "story" is recycling an old quote and treating it as if it was something new and then twisting it to refer to the new series and not the pilot, which it originally was, then these other clowns just blindly copy and paste it on to their sites without taking five seconds to check their source. You should even know this since not only did you post in the original topic about it, but you did so multiple times.
viewtopic.php?f=1046&t=12547" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
Not only that but it was then posted about a second time.

The new and again improved evil's advertisement is currently too long and too badass to display here. But let's just say that with now 50% more evil, this **** is great!

Re: Hasselhoff Puts Final Nail In Knight Rider Coffin
I'm well aware of the quote, PHOENIXZERO. What I find interesting is this: "...there was a disagreement about how to handle the character..." since GST said in an interview that he was in talks with Hasselhoff about the role. Now I get to read this which leads me to believe that they didn't come to an agreement.
Besides, the article itself was not posted in any of the topics you linked to. The quote however has been mentioned in GOD knows how many articles. Even though he is an idiot to quote something that old I think it's worth mentioning the article since it's quite recent (shall we call it) "news".

No, because the source of this "news"... Well there is no source, this is someone clearly making **** up. If Hasselhoff wasn't coming back he would have likely said something himself in an official capacity instead of some low level gossip from some blogger on a site no one gives a crap about. He does have his own official site you know. That is all being drawn from that eight month plus old quote, that is what I'm getting at.

What's your idea, do you think Hasselhoff is going to make an appearence in the show given what we already know?

Re: Hasselhoff Puts Final Nail In Knight Rider Coffin
I don't know if he is or if he isn't but neither does this blogger who's creating a "story" around a months old quote that had nothing to do with the the series. The change in direction means little to that, in fact this change could have been done in part as a way to not only try to appease old fans but Hasselhoff as well, not to mention something that could have been the planned direction well before we even saw the first episode..

Actually the first link I put up predates the Hasselhoff mention by Neil in the reviews topic of the story.
