KARR swearing?

This is something that has been discussed before. The key is the fact that due to KARR's laser shot ricocheting off of KITT's reflectors into his vulnerable scanner spot, it weakened his interior, and weakened his structure, therefore no longer making KARR as invulnerable as KITT.

Which raises the question, did KARR have the MBS like KITT in the first place

Of course he did. How else do you think he would have survived crashing through walls, doors, annoying drive in speakers, concrete pillars, off of a cliff, etc?

Well who's bright idea was it to make KARR's voicebox silver in TDR, with three visual display bars, and not mounted in a dash!!??! What the....?

Probably the prop department, who at the time had a limited budget and limited leeway to produce KARR, even going so far as to using the KITT vehicles as such.

Here's a bit of a nutty realization too: SPM's panel wasn't really in the car, either.

At least the SPM panel looked like it belonged. You could see the sides of KARR's voicebox, and that they weren't attached to a dash. Anyone care to suppose where the SPM panel was supposed to be?

Remember the scene in KOTJ where michael goes to press SPM for the final time to catch up with the plane?

Well, he raises his hand as if to press it from the roof...so i say there!

I think that scene basically answers this occasional question!

You have to realize that KITT was being properly maintained all the time, whereas KARR was not. Add to that the fact that KARR's base structure was weaked by the salty sea AND the laser shot caused further interior damage. Basically, KARR was not up to par with KITT's condition. Now, if KITT had tried that when KARR just broke out of the lab...Well, then...that's a matter for a paradox to try answering.

Didn't they use reflecters to fire Karrs laser back at him and weaken him somehow?

yes, KITT had high tensil reflectors installed by bonnie right before the final showdown with karr.
