An Idea about Graiman

Post by Niggle Snoosh » Tue Aug 19, 2008 3:03 pm

just had an interesting thought which may contradict the pilot somewhat as i i haven't seen it in a while but what if Graiman had built KARR not KITT and subsequently left out of KITTs main creation and building KI3T is in part his way to make amends for this
Michael: "Devon, someone tried to kill me last night!"
Devon: "I have an alibi"

my take on that is that Graiman built KITT, Wilton Knight built KARR before his health deteriorated. Although Graiman may have been involved in some of the technology for both vehicles and collaborated in KARR's construction with Wilton...

But KITT wasn't built by just one man. Remember in the original series pilot, Devon told Wilton there are men working around the clock to get KITT finished.

Or are we just talking about the AI not the car as a whole?

I suppose technically, the only difference between KI2T and KARR was the AI unit and KARR for some reason had an updated voice modulator

so its possible that the VEHICLE (bypassing the word car to avoid phonetic confusion) was designed and built by Wilton but the later vehicle, KITT had a new AI unit in which Graiman had a hand in updating

I don't know. Guess I can't really get past the creation of the whole Charles Graiman character in the first place. So unnecessary and sloppy that David Andron couldn't work more off the original storyline.

It's actually a sticking point many fans don't like - and I suspect it's one of those points that the new show will gloss over. We've been told the TV movie won't be held as gospel so they could easily do a retcon and say "Graiman was one of the scientists who worked on the Two Thousand" in a throw away line.

i suppose you could also argue that the reason the Backdoor pilot has been relegated from seperate release to increase interest and instead be an extra is because events from it are not to be thought of as gospel/direct new canon
