Re: Set Pictures! Possible "Super Pursuit Mode"

Here are the original images at full size - http://shadowyflight.com/kr08/maybe_attack/

My thoughts (hopes?) is that it's just a Hot Rod KITT - the Valves on the hood, the thin wheels in the front, fat in the back - scream a bit Hot Rod to me - and it doesn't seem as well put together as the original KITT. Also the scanner looks to be non existent (opaque) - so I'm thinking it's not.

Lost Knight - you sure are a puzzle! One second you say how it looks like you were wrong about the Shelby lettering, the next you call the possible attack KITT an ad for Ford? The standard KITT seems more like an add than whatever this is. :D

Everything is sponsored these days (and have been since the 50s) - we need to look past that at some point. And I think the only way we will is once we see an episode. If it is/is not shoved down our face, we can finally be all on the same side. Right now we're just having knee jerk reactions to everything.

*If there was a vomit emoticon it would go here.*

I really, really, reallllly hope that's not the new Attack KITT that thing looks horrible and reminds me of the 1955'd version of the Delorean after repairs were made. WTF is with that big ass spoiler?! It looks like it was either taken off an airplane or they took a surf board and stuck it on there. Then there's the super charger or whatever that is...

Note to GST and whomever designed that monstrosity, if that's the new "Attack" KITT start wearing a cup now to at least give you some false sense of protection. >_<

I wonder what they'd do if they debuted that and it got a hugely negative response...

EDIT: Didn't see the post you made Neil with the full size pics. Thanks for providing them Jaimetheking.

If that is the new Attack Mode, which now I'm sure it is since it looks like they have two of them, I wish my knee jerk reaction included my "jerking" my knee up to the groin or midsection followed by a second knee to their face to whomever thought up and designed that monstrosity... That's just horrible. On the bright side, the rear lights look like they might be decent... >_>

*NOTE: The "threats" here are not serious, though at this point I can only speak for myself.*

My thought on the "two of them"... I think they'll always make at least two of them, even if it's not the attack KITT.

Often cars get damaged when filming - they're not gonna want to risk blowing an entire days worth of shooting if one car gets in an accident - they're going to want a backup. Building two is better than building 1 in that case.

You didn’t happen to see how the doors opened on these did you jaimetheking?
It looks like these karrs have regular steering wheels, but that proves nothing.

You know, it looks like the design aesthetic of the original SPM applied to the Mustang! The back end, the spoiler, the vents at the side...

SPM itself wasn't the greatest invention to come out of Knight Rider, but it looks to me like they're at least trying to pay homage to the original.

 Well, I have my theories and then later pictures come out that seem to prove otherwise, that's all. As for the hotrod K.I.T.T., any Mustang is automatic product placement, but I'm not complaining about that so much as pointing it out. Also, I can't imagine Ford allowing many other "rival" vehicles being non-Ford vehicles. Same reason I think much of the shapeshifting will be relegated to Mustang/Ford only. It will be fun to see how things turn out.

Maybe they will take a cue from Doctor Who. KITT will shape shift into a :kitt: then due to a malfunction, get stuck in that shape for the rest of the series.

Looks like this may very well be just a souped up "hot rod" KITT for an episode of the series. Without giving too much away, over at kittsite.com, if you look through the episode spoilers you'll notice in one of the episodes there is something mentioned that would strongly back up this theory. I'm not saying it's definite proof but I think that this may be a one-time deal or maybe it it's a completely new variation of KITT that has nothing to do with an SPM-like version. Here's to hoping that the powers-that-be behind the new "Attack KITT" do something right and went with a good car designer who thought outside the box for a truly unique and exceptional looking KITT when they reveal it at ComicCon in a few days!

Also, looks like kittsite.com also has KRO beat to the first actual promo pictures from the first episode of the new series. Gotta say that Deanna Russo sure does look a million times more beautiful than she did in the 2 hour pilot!

Looks like she's put on a little weight in the right places. ;) Also looks like either she had that mark on her neck removed or they've covered it up with make up. O_o

Like most of i hope upon hope that is not the attack KI3T

However i assume it is not and is instead like others have said; to do with the episode containing a race of some kind. It (although far more exagerrated) makes me think of how KITT was given stars in 'Slammin' Sammy's Stunt Show Spectacular' from season 1 to help maintain the illusion he was a showy stunt car. It make sense to me it could easily be KI3T customised to appear like he belonged in a over the top mucle car race. The way i see it as KI3T is so advanced that he would easily mop the floor with any muscle car and would draw far more attention to himself by looking as if he hadn't been modded at all.

Also considering that a lot of people (including myself) were far from happy when Attack KI3T sported a racing Stripe and silly double spoiler as it went to boy racerish. Which then of course seemed to lead to the Attack KI3T from the pilot being scrapped altogether for those reason and fans negative reaction it would seem quite a supremely idiotic move to then repeat the same mistake X100

At least thats what i will assume until we know one way or another after Comic-Con

In fairness - kittsite did put them up first, though I'm sure we probably got them from the same source.

I checked the forum before posting, but I didn't see the msg tucked in this thread. Sorry.

To make up for it, got this in my mail box. I think they're just a custom car places marketing ploy, but more fuel for the fire perhaps?

Well...the taillights look very similar to what was in the photo's and it does have the Lambo doors that have been rumored. Maybe this is the new Attack KI3T and those other picks were just this version a little modified for the racing episode. Can't tell if it has the scanner on the front though. I don't know if someone would put the actual logo on the side of the car if it was just a fan's custom job.

Judging from the amount of ground clearance, I'd say that's the 4x4 offroad version kittsite.com was talking about for ep. 3.

i sure hope this is the new attack kitt. the steering wheel is looks like kitt. still not a huge fan of the spoiler and i'm not sure if the lambo wings are really needed, but such a relief compared to the pictures from last night. i can definitely get on board with this new attack kitt. the spoiler definitely looks more streamlined compared to the attack kitt from the backdoor pilot. definitely a much happier camper than from last night :D

The hood looks like a newer version of the classic hot rod look, definitely. The whole car looks awesome except for the rear spoiler, which I agree is WAY too high. KITT shouldn't be wearing a park bench under any circumstances! Unless he's trying for a part in The Fast and The Furious or something. LOL!

But outside of that, I love the overall look.

I noticed that in the hot rod version, the front tires are thinner than the back. Hot Rods in the 70s I remember had that too, but the front tires were about the same as KITT's back ones and the back tires were WAY thicker. Probably has to do with the suspension that they can't go much thicker than they have on KITT.

But awesome stuff! :) Especially for a hot rod fan like me.

I like the look of the hot rod KITT, ok the spoiler looks far to silly on there but the rest of the car is very cool.

I have a fealing those tubes on the bonnet may be cameras, I rember seeing footage when they were recoring a scene from that breakdancing kid that went into a coma film whatever it was called.
Any how they were running the K2000 up and down and it had tubes on the bonnet just like shown here.

Are they cameras or some sort of boost thingy?

Also this hot rod Kitt looks more like somthing out of death race :)

Sorry folks, but we were asked by the powers that be to take down the images in the first post till the end of the week. Hope you guys understand, as we don't want to ruffle any feathers, or ruin any potential surprises...

Please PM me if you have any questions or concerns over this.

Well, the spoiler isn't quite there yet, but I can live with it. Certainly getting better and better with each Mustang I've seen. I'm really feelin' the back lights; it's about time I saw a Mustang that finally changed them. Don't know about the front because I can't see it. And the Lamborghini doors, well...I still think those don't belong on American Muscle/Ponycars, but it's kind of cool on this one. It will take some getting used to, but then again so did the Mustang itself, at first.
