Set Pictures! Possible "Super Pursuit Mode"
I live in Santa Clarita where Knight Rider has been filming for the past couple months now. I'm a huge fan of the old series and now I'm enjoying the new NBC series. Thought you guys would like to see this different KITT which to me looks like a "Super Pursuit Mode" KITT! They were shooting this KITT as it drove passed Slower Driving picture cars. ...Enjoy!

Re: Set Pictures! Possible "Super Pursuit Mode"
Well... I am underwhelmed.
Edit: my opinion
Likes:
- the back of the car /taillights -> AWESOME
- airvents at the side of the car with silver
- shielded front lights
Dislikes:
- tha HUGE spoiler at the rear -> absolutely hate it
- the 3 tubes on the hood -> WTF???
- why a silver/grey front grill?
But it's still better than the first try in the pilot. Although it's far from being perfect.
That's my opinion.

Re: Set Pictures! Possible "Super Pursuit Mode"
To be perfectly honest, I just don't have the words to adequatly describe how bad I think that monstrosity looks. Given a choice between that thing, or the version from the pilot, I'm afraid I'd have to take the version from the pilot, and I didn't exactly like that version all that much either.

Hmm not to sure about that! Maybe K.I.T.T. shoots rockets out the front???? On another note i dont see shelby lettering on the normal car.

Re: Set Pictures! Possible "Super Pursuit Mode"
the taillights of the new attack version are AWESOME!!!!!!!
and i can also live with the body kit.
the rear wing and the hood on the other hand can't be bested in ugliness!!!
why is it so hard to find movie designers with at least a spark of good taste...

Jamie,
Is there any chance that you've got some larger versions of those photos for us to more closely examine the car in question?
Matt
P.S. In my rush to comment, I forgot my manners. Thanks for getting us these shots mate.

Re: Set Pictures! Possible "Super Pursuit Mode"
I hope this is a joke. Honestly I agree with Matthew, if I had a choice I'd go with the Attack KITT from the backdoor pilot which I have said in the past looked a hell of a lot more impressive then the "stock" hero KITT to begin with.
This thing here (if it is indeed true) looks more like a knock off of the Attack KITT made in a foreign country.
I will reserve further comment though until I've actually seen the Attack KITT unveiling at SDCC.
Now I'm off to see the TDK in IMAX.

Re: Set Pictures! Possible "Super Pursuit Mode"
I'm hoping that's a one time prop for the race episode someone was talking about. But I see two of the exact same car in the last picture...

I do have bigger versions on the pictures but the forum has an upload limit. They also had a blue Jaguar like convertible picture car...shown here!
Ps., thanks for the warm welcome, I will try and get you guys more photos from the sets as they shot around my area.- Matthew

Re: Set Pictures! Possible "Super Pursuit Mode"
That looks like a Spyker C8 Spyder to me. The matte look of the paint in comparison to the GT500 could indicate that it's the "T" version, which would make sense if these pictures are associated with the filming of episode 3.
Matt
P.S. If you have a PhotoBucket or ImageShack account, you should be able to upload the larger versions there, and then post the links to them since the upload limit of sites like that are usually much larger than they typically are on forums.

Re: Set Pictures! Possible "Super Pursuit Mode"
Well, the car looks more like a hotrod to me, à la "Custom K.I.T.T." Perhaps there is an upcoming episode where K.I.T.T. will have to be customized in some way to enter a race much like the classic series? Or, perhaps he comes across a nemesis who also drives a souped up Mustang? If it is the new Attack K.I.T.T., Gary Scott Thompson certainly mixed his Fast and the Furious inspirations here.
It's still very possible this is not going to be the official new Attack K.I.T.T., so I think it would be wise to reserve judgement until July 25th.

Yes, you're right. But I was really shocked when I first saw the pictures. And BTW, nice shots and thanks for sharing them.Lost Knight wrote:Well, the car looks more like a hotrod to me, à la "Custom K.I.T.T." Just keep your fingers crossed it's really for the race episode

Re: Set Pictures! Possible "Super Pursuit Mode"
from what we've already seen in spoilers, is it not more plausible that the car is from episode 3 where Ki3t has a drag race against a "NOS'd up" car....
especially since the top picture shows the mustangs side by side at a set of traffic lights and the car on the left is obviously the "hero" car...
bearing in mind it is Ford putting up the money, and remembering that the cars from the pilot were all owned by ford and i dont know of any other marque they own which would be suitable for the kind of tweaking that a 'street hot rod' would have done to it...
if they were meant to be 2 versions/modes of the same car, they wouldnt be shown side by side, surely....???

Re: Set Pictures! Possible "Super Pursuit Mode"
The original attack KI3T actually looked more like a ricer.I guess they want to give it more of a muscle car feel to it,I guess. It's not bad, although they can give KI3T a smaller spoiler. It doesn't have to be 10 stories tall to make KI3T look good.
Congratulations!By reading this signature,KITT's AWESOMENESS has increased by ONE POINT!
So far KITT's power level is OVER 9,000!!!!

That infact is not a Jaguar, it is a Spyker C8 Laviolette.jaimetheking wrote:I do have bigger versions on the pictures but the forum has an upload limit. Wow.
I really hope that's a one-off design for a particular episode. KITT is supposed to be sleek, remember? He's not a muscle car.

Re: Set Pictures! Possible "Super Pursuit Mode"
Im glad to see pictures starting to come out but I really hope that is not the new car. Maybe if it doesnt have the pvc pipes sticking out of the hood or the 5 ft spoiler. And if its all black.

Re: Set Pictures! Possible "Super Pursuit Mode"
Pure speculation, but I think it's possible that it is some kind of 'dragster' mode for that particular episode, and not the 'attack' mode. I also think there's a chance that it will have different modes than just the extra 'attack' mode that we saw in the pilot, like 'dragster', 'pursuit', and 'off-road' modes, for example.
One man did make a difference.

Re: Set Pictures! Possible "Super Pursuit Mode"
Thanks guys for letting me post up these photos. Wish they were better but they had closed the road and I had to snap them as I drove by. I must say that I had sent them to Jalopnik.com because I frequent their site, but they didn't seem to care so I registered onto this site where I have been Welcomed! Should've came here FIRST! But oh well, now you guys have them and if I can get new photos, I will only send them to KnightRiderOnline First!
Neil, I sent you the original photos, and the location off of google maps. Hope it works out.
Thanks!

Re: Set Pictures! Possible "Super Pursuit Mode"
Looking at the first picture again, it doesn't appear that the "normal" K.I.T.T. has any Shelby lettering on his hood. Maybe Neil or those of you who have enlarged pics can see better. Perhaps he won't end up having the Shelby lettering after all?
It's also worth mentioning that the hotrod-looking Mustang does not appear to have a scanner on it—further backing my theory that it's just a rival street racer and of course even more product placement opportunity for Ford.
