New Promo!

Hey guys, just watching America's got Talent and just saw a brand new commercial for the new season of Knight Rider on NBC! It was about a 15 sec. spot and it featured Val Kilmer's voice, and the promo mentioned that Knight Rider the SERIES begins, Sep. 24!!!

This is what I noticed. Of course it's all recycled footage, but I'd expect them to be careful of showing things if they were going to change them.

No Shelby Lettering
Cobra Logo (OK Then)
Same Scanner as Movie
"Knight Rider" logo same as Pilot text (not that KR cobra stuff)
The "T" in Knight Rider is using the Earth font unedited - consistency!
The text blowing in is really cool.

theres also another one where kitt asks if he's too flashy. to me it sounded a bit too robotic. i thought they were going to keep with it being robotic, but the "shiny" one, seems a little less monotone. anyways, cant wait for the new knight rider show. july 25 should also be cool, with the unveiling of the new attack car.

although, im not sure if i would put too much stock into these commercials. i think they changed the steering wheel in one of the commercials and the actual backdoor pilot. gary scott thomas said they were going to hold out for as long as they could to keep everything a surprise.

I just saw it on NBC now. Very funny! neps beat the Pacific time airing by about 10 min, cool!
Sure enough, that's Earth font. I do prefer the modified Ts and Ks that we saw in the movie.

I saw two of the promos,but I didn't see the one where KI3T asks if he's too shiny or not.And the cobra logo isn't that bad,just as long as they don't chuck it in our faces too much.

Yeah, those are the two promos I posted about seeing during American Gladiators, apparently no one watched AG last Monday, not all that surprising since the contestants are "personalities" like the annoying people on lame gameshows like Deal or No Deal.

I wasn't paying much attention so I got what was said in the "Too Flashy" one wrong. *Shrugs*

I thought both of the teasers were pretty sucky.

The first one was just comprised of stock footage used in the teaser where KITT talks about himself except the camera is held on the car a couple of seconds longer.

I wouldn't bother saying what lettering is on the car etc etc because of the stock footage reason. It's old!

One thing I noticed...

the final screen, where it says "Wednesday Sept 24" - the letters oscillate like the classic KITT's scanner...not the new one.

I really like the spirit of these promos. Knight Rider is such a well-known entity that they don't need to explain what it is. They can just have fun with it. KR2000, KR2010, TKR.... they all took themselves too seriously.

Dood, I am being serious, I read it something about it earlier and ive been frantically searching for it so i could post it here except i cleared my IE history earlier and now i cant find it . I said apparantly because it could be false information, although it seemed serious enough. You can guarantee that if its true someone will see it and post it here soon enough.

Umm is it just me or is there no new footage save for the title graphics? I don't think we've seen the new Mustang KITT yet, the footage looks recycled from the pilot (hence the original scanner and no shelby letters on the hood).

This commercial was in similar style of the 2 hr pilot visually. People have been already been picking apart the show from what they've seen from rumors or a lower quality touring vehicle.

I don't think there is a "new kitt" to see - the only thing new exterior wise will be the Attack KITT - thats why they are making a big deal at Comic Con of it's reveal, cause it's the one big new thing they have.

This commercial helps to show that the KITT in the series will have similar styles as the tv movie (no bulbly scanner, no shelby lettering on the hood). Those were things people have been quick to complain about, and I think that shouldn't be the case.
