"I did a few things that Ford absolutely hated," says an understanding Harald. "It took the car to another level, but [the company] wanted to keep the flair of the Mustang." One of the nixed elements was vertical wings sprouting from the Mustang's triangular quarter-windows on the Attack KITT. Those were shot off in a hurry.

Ah, I see. As a matter of fact I'm with Ford here, they should keep the Mustang as simple as possible.KITT Season 4 wrote:Actually that was an early idea but(http://www.mustang50magazine.com/featur ... index.html on the first page)Naturally, Ford didn't want to lose its identity in the new KITT. KITT ist no "2 Fast 2 Furious"-car. Keep him nice and simple, plain black, no logos, add a cool scanner and a fancy interiour, and I am very happy.

Correct, thats just a base GT mustang with lambo doors from Verticle Doors Inc. to give everyone an idea of what they are talking about since I saw talk of gull wing doors which are something completely different. Most lambo door kits allow the door to still open normal (up to 75% of the way) with the option of raising up to a 90 degree angle.Lost Knight wrote:msKEN,
That's a picture of a random Mustang that happened to have the Lamborghini hinges installed, not the actual car being used for K.I.T.T. for the series, correct?

I'd like to see Ford stay the hell out of any creative decisions regarding the design of the Mustang. If the Attack car design happens to lean toward the more basic look, fine, just as long as it wasn't because of Ford's smothering influence. We all know it's a Shelby Mustang and Ford is going to sell more cars either way. I noticed a heavily modified Mustang in the trailer for the upcoming movie Death Race, and even then they had to explain the exact type of Mustang it was just in case we couldn't tell.Garthe Knight wrote:Ah, I see.
