In the end it is a wait and see situation.
I might be in the minority but I don't have much of an issue with the Mustang. i like it actually. There isn't another car that is affordable for shooting purposes, has a design that works until late next year.
I posted this in another thread but I recently saw the movie "Redline". While the movie isn't great, you do see a lot of exotics and powerful cars doing their thing. They even had a scene where the Ford GT goes against the Shelby Mustang. I was impressed how the Shelby looks onscreen. It looks powerful, and agile.
As for Product placement I think a good example was Transformers. A lot of GM cars but it wasn't like they were flashing logos all over the place. in fact I Don't remember seeing any logos. you know what is what by design only.
**Shapeshifter: I checked out aintitcoolnews.com and there is a bit of confusion between the two spots voice wise. I have seen other comments as well around the net. NBC should not rush things for the sake of rushing them. Especially when they send out all these press releases stating Will Arnet is the voice of KITT prior to all of the spots.

I actually don't know what to tell you about that. I listened to them as well, and they are obviously two different V/O's. One does not sound very polished, so the idea that it's some kind of 'temp' track v/o makes some sense. But, my "reach" does not extend to marketing, so I'm really in the same boat as everyone else. Do keep in mind, though, that NBC is a large organization with different departments working on this, maybe in this case the right hand didn't know what the left was doing. Again, that's pure speculation, based on looking at the same information everyone else has.ck37 wrote: **Shapeshifter: I checked out aintitcoolnews.com and there is a bit of confusion between the two spots voice wise. I DO have a copy of the spot that actually aired on my DVR (which I can't figure out how to get on my computer, I'm a little computer-challenged) Upon listening, it sounds a lot like the more processed V/O, but it's not in any way distorted, just filtered. I have audio background, so I CAN say, from a technical standpoint, there's nothing wrong with the spot as it aired. The youtube spot, by comparison, seems to have been recorded by someone holding up a camera to the TV while the spot was running. The sound has a "phase shift" quality--thin and swishy. Not indicative of the way the spot sounded when it aired. Again I'm comparing only the processed-sounding youtube spot to the one that actually aired. As far as that second spot with the less professional sounding V/O, I haven't a clue as to where that came from, d_osborne may be right about it being a rough cut, although I'd be curious to know how he found out.
