Re: Knight Industries—Arms Manufacturer?
I think Wilton was an idealist who recognized what kind of forces existed in the world and what those forces might do with new technologies. But I think this is also why he focused on the idea that one man can make a difference and by doing so stayed very true to those ideals. In conjunction with th...

Re: Live Discussion Thread: A Hard Day's Knight
As I recall in the original series while KITT certainally had that whole sort of, as Hoff put it "continental" thing to his voice, it wasn't until much further into the series that you had KITT acting a bit more human and displaying compassion for Michael. Remember when they started out Mi...

This isn't the first time we've seen the lambo doors.

Well as they say in the south, Mike "get's it honest" from his Dad who was also a ladies man. I think Mikes just a lot less smooth at it than Michael was. Besides as is stated in the episode he's not in a relationship with Sarah, at least not officially so until there is actually some sort...

Re: Live Discussion Thread: Knight of the Iguana
Overall while not a high-octane action episode it was still fun and an amusing way to spotlight Zoe. I enjoyed her in the episode for both the obvious reasons and the story itself. I do think they overdo it on her personality sometimes. I think what they are going for is someone who is a little ecce...

Re: Episode 3's tone was too campy, why??
A lighter tone and camp are not the same thing. Sometimes I think modern audiences are so ingrained on darker tones to a point where if somebody stops angsting or being "badass" for five seconds and cracks a smile then suddenly it's camp. It's like with Batman people think it's always a ch...

Just watched ep.2
I enjoyed this second episode much more than the first. I think it felt like something more in tune with the original series where Michael is on a mission in some remote part of the country trying to get his way in to some wild scene undercover. I also liked that there was a bit more focus on intera...

The Good: I thought the improvements to KITT's look worked rather well. I like that the scanner sound effect was more pronounced. I don't get the Val Kilmer hate. He's not William Daniels but I think as the voice of *THIS* KITT he works fine. On the transforming/morphing thing you know I don't even ...

KITT communicating visually.
I don't know about anyone else here but I thought the way the new movie had KITT using file images as a way to convey or puncuate what he was saying was an interesting touch. If was effective for comedy in the potato chip scene and the scene at the gas station. But I also felt it was used to great d...

Re: Knight 3000 a step down?
That's kind of what I'm thinking to. They can always upgrade and add things. Like I said in another post, they could add an MBS to the new KITT based on the experience they had in the pilot. There's nothing in the pilot that I can recall that states work on the car was at 100% before the thieves arr...

Re: black river - nbc liberal bias
But notice that Mike was also in Iraq, as an actual soldier, and he's portrayed as flawed but honorable character. Note that Black River is a "private security company." They're not part of the government, they're contract work. What did Mike say? "They're just in it for the money.&q...

Re: KITT should have been TRANS AM
While I'm dissapointed that KITT isn't a Trans-Am or some form of car with a sleek slope front *like* a Trans-Am I think for the car having to be a Mustang they did actually did really good job of making it look like something cool and recognizable as KITT. If the Trans Am thing is your main issue, ...

AICN can bite me on this one. Some of them are clamoring for a Galactica style remake. UUGH! Gobs of dimly-lit angst and CSI shakey-cam for Knight Rider? NO THANKS!

Re: Firefox News movie review by Yours Truly
Well, I totally disagree with your assessment of Kilmer's performance. I agree to some extent the Hoff cameo feels tacked on. I was hoping Michael would be playing a much bigger role in everything but at the same time I'm glad they had that and I really get the feeling that if it goes to series we'l...

Re: Threesome and Lesbian Scene Trash
I didn't have a problem with those scenes because they were wrong or an insult to the kings holy sovereignty or whatever. I had a problem with them because they were just dumb. Establishing Mike as a ladies man is easy enough by having the girl in bed with him. With the cop it was so gratuitous. The...

Re: Exec Producer: This Is For The New Generation
It's always a delicate thing. Bringing something time-honored back while at the same trying to be sure it doesn't seem tired or a retread. What ultimately tells the tale is the decisions they make about what to keep, what to throw out, and what to change in combination with how good the brand new id...

Re: THEME song just horrible!
I liked it mostly, but it loses something when it deviates from the original to this totally unrelated hook. The first half of the theme works better because it's the original with a ton of oomph! Kind of like how the new Doctor Who theme has all the coolness of the old series but it's just taken to...

Re: Maybe that wasnt KITT in pieces
If nothing else, the implication is that it was the original Trans-Am body.
I think the real question dramatically is, where is the original KITT CPU?
OR..is Y2KITT a regeneration of the same CPU that actually has all of KITT's memories stored?

Re: No Need For Turbo Boost
I think we'll see Turbo Boost but they just didn't want to show you everything in the pilot. They want to leave things for the series. Who knows, maybe there'll be an ep where the need for Turbo Boost comes into question and they'll equip him with it then.

At first glance I was underwhelmed by the interior to but I've seen full shots of it that make it look more impressive. The main thing is that you have to be willing to go along with the basic philosophy behind the design which even though I totally dig the original interior, is actually very sound....

Ah, the lesbian thing. I'd actually forgotten about that. I didn't have a problem with it exactly because I don't have a problem with lesbians or gay people and characters. I just thought it was a bit of a groaner because the way it was done seemed like a very gratuitously placed "OMG LESBIANS!...
