Kitt's Fuel Economy

Post by andrewd » Wed Jul 06, 2005 2:32 am

Just watched episode 'Reurn to Cadiz' There is an intersting quote from Kitt

'200 miles per gallon is pretty to me' which made me wonder what KITT's actual Fuel economy was. Does anyone know? I have a feeling KITT was running on a Nitrous Fuel setup. Would hate to think what the fuel econmoy would be if running on unleaded fuel (gas).

i think kitt can drive on both.

the gas is the "normal" fuel for kitt.. but if there is no more gas in kitt, he can use normal gas, what you mean?

He can run on anything as long as it has combustible capabilities.

That't funny, I never once seen get fuel or gas or whatever. I always wondered about that but I guess it wasn;t that big of a deal to show that stuff in the show. The only time they ran out of gas was in Soul Survivor when they were using Devons car and it ran out of gas, and Michael got made at Kitt cause he never told him about it and Kitt's like how is that my fault cause I'm in a Tv lol.

In the episode "Inside out" where Devon gets arrested, KITT was runnign low on gas. Then Michael said "I'll get blood for Dracula" (or somthing of the sort?) And KITT goes, "Blood has no compbustible capabilities, I can run on anything that is combustible" (or something of the sort?) lol.

This isn't going to help at all, but there was one episode where KITT stopped at a gas station. I remember because Michael flipped the liscence plate up, and I thought that was a strange place to put gas...

There was that once episode in season 2 where KITT's body is stolen and KITT ends up in that TV-Radio and they run out of gas...

Actually it was the episode "No Big Thing" where Devon gets arrested. Michael says something to the extent of "Bonnie really messed up..." when KITT finds out he's low on fuel but it was due to the fact that Michael went so many miles out of his way (can't remember exact mileage) to be with a girl. Big surprise there. So if KITT gets fueled up at the semi and it's supposed to last him an entire trip, 200 mph sounds about right. Heck it could even be more.
Flyer Guy: "You really a talking car?"
KITT: "No. I'm a tight end for the Chicago Bears!"

In "Give Me Liberty Or Give Me Death" KITT was fixed up to use liquid hydrogen. I don't think KITT's normal gas is the petrol kind but maybe some special form of economic fuel. I remember when they were tracking KARR I think in 3rd season where KITT mentioned something about KARR's "Turbine fuel" leaking and they could trace that? So if they are the same, KITT is probably running on some kind of "turbine fuel" as well. But CAN run on anything, including normal gas if needed.
