Is there more authentic LEDs for the 1/18 KITT?

I remember when the 1/18 KITTs and KARRs first came out that somebody had a link to a place you could get a replacement for the LEDs that come in the models these LEDs had more 'bulbs' and scanned better instead of sweeping to the left turning off, turning on and sweeping to the right then off etc. Or am I just remembering something that does not exist. I have an original release (orange foglamps) KITT and i would love to swap the ones in the model for the better ones (if they exist).
