Re: Val Kilmer voiced GPS ?!
THIS IS A SD CARD INSTALL
(watch out, everything seems to be case sensitive)
1-unzip the mio pocket 2 package into your computer
2-plug a SD card into a reader
3-Copy the MioAutoRun and Media folders to the root of your SD card (ex. so that it looks like \Storage Card\MioAutoRun and \Storage Card\Media).
4-create a folder in the root of your storage card called KITT_USA
5-copy MioAutoRun.exe, MioAutoRun.mscr and MortScript.exe to the KITT_USA folder that you just created and rename the first two to auto.exe and auto.mscr, respectively.
6-open your MIO and go into your menu
7-insert SD card
8-tap power button to close the screen
9-tap again to power it up. It will start the installation (lasts a few seconds)
10-now miopocket have open up. You have many icons, but the software is not really install, those are just icons. Except for MIOMAP that should normally work.
11-click miomap - an error will show up, it's normal. its seeking for the wrong file at the wrong folder.
12-click "ok" to assign a new path for the file.
13-browse up to "Program Files\Navman\SmartST_CE"
14-select SmartST_CE.exe
Voilà !
Now you'll have miopocket and youll be able to access the Map, i've tested it and it work. The GPS still work too (it does find connection)
Only having a few problems, like activesync not working, or usb at all. Computer detects the device when the default gps boots, but not if i have the miopocket installed. Also, need to find a GAPI config for it. But other than that, most other things work fine, besides a few things here and there... not sure however what games or programs are computable with win CE to install... I tried a few and didn't have much luck.

Re: Val Kilmer voiced GPS ?!
That is awesome, looks like it is coming along nicely. I have a question though. Is there any way to get it so that the car makes that distinctive "Woo Woo" sound when ever the red lights on the front go back and forth? And make it so its audible outside of the car? I'm sure that would be a pain in the arse, but if that could be done, I might actually think about putting one of those in a good car I might be able to afford someday, lol.

You know, I feel too self concious to invest in the William Daniels voiced GPS, but I might actually invest in this one....

Re: Val Kilmer voiced GPS ?!
Can someone answer a few questions, plus send me the info for where to download the GPS mod?
By loading the mod are all original start ups "Where would you like to go today?" removed for the series quotes in it's place, or can you have all of them?
Have all names been adjusted?
I would like to keep the original scanner start up the go to the binary video as someone mentioned.
Then go to the Knight Industries Logo instead of the map loading screen.
To the graphic guy: could you make a screen almost as you have with the chess peice but with "Knight 2000 Global Position Sattelite program" above and blow the graphic "Knight Industries" (without the shadowing or Italics) plus underneath that in smaller letters "a division of F.L.A.G."? It would be greatly appreciated, and thank you in advance!
Thank you for all your hard work. I am still absolutely amazed with what the Knight Rider community has become since 1996 when there was only like 20 of us. Back then we had to communicate over a newsgroup. It was like vinyl or 8 track compared to message boards with nice graphics! Thanks again guys.

Re: Val Kilmer voiced GPS ?!
Dude, Kevin, whats going on! I used to be a member of alt.tv.knightrider as well. Ahh, those were the days.
Back then I went by a different screen name.
Anyways, the scanner animation cannot play before my binary animation because there is not enough time.
The start-up animation is allotted a short timeframe. It is impossible to fit both clips in there.
Yes, all the names have been adjusted.
I will PM you with a link.

Re: Val Kilmer voiced GPS ?!
taoworm2323 Thanks for the info, and the PM.
I do have to ask as I am trying to pump up a friends unit, where did the text for the Safety Agreement go? Plus anyway to get the Alpha speech back for the keyboard?
I just want it to be as close to stock with the few changes of better graphics and the improved sound of K.I.T.T.
Any of you guys want to take a crack at it, or even putting in text with KITT's capabilities? Ya know that spec sheet that went around with Fuel Economy: Classified (to prevent heart attacks in detroit) It's scrollable.
Also for those that are nit picky, By applying the mod, when you go into Preferences>Greeting name (unless you keep the first wav file the same) you will see the text "_____ , where would you like to go today?" with a sound file not matching the text. Just heads up.
Lastly to the genius graphic guy, thought you may appreciate this in use of my request and for future customizing.

Thanks again guys.

Re: Val Kilmer voiced GPS ?!
I picked and chose which wav's I really wanted. Left "Where would you like to go today?" as file 1 to match the text.
Got the speech back for keyboard and directions. (Was really hesitant to delete that US KITT normal speech file!)
So I have everything working great. New and improved.
But like I mentioned I'd like to get the Safety Agreement back. Any suggestions or coverups?
KK
thanks for all your help!
With me being a vocalist and sound alike artist, we may have to work together on doing a KARR mod?! jk

Re: Val Kilmer voiced GPS ?!
i am so confused with this thread. There is a mod for the KR GPS for Val to speak instead of Will? I'm not sure on that part because i am so lost. If there is, is it possible for someone to upload the audio files of Val somewhere?
