'Just the three of us, you, you and I'
Hahaha! The voice modulator and it's area were no good, but they DID work.
KITT's parents... hmm... Elizabeth Knight and Wilton Knight? They did get divorced...

Yes, I always thought if anyone would technically qualify as Kitt's parents, it would be Michael and Bonnie. :?

I'm posting this in here instead of starting a new thread cause one thread on Nick and Jessica is one thread to many ;) Looks like we can look forward to the DVD of this event:

http://www.tvshowsondvd.com/newsitem.cfm?NewsID=1547
Yesterday a reader, Rob Broder, wrote in and mentioned that DVDPlanet.com had put The Nick & Jessica Variety Hour special up for pre-order, with a July 13 release date. No other info was listed beside a $16.95 list price, and that the studio was Image Entertainment.

The special aired in early April, and featured popular "Newlyweds" Nick Lachey and Jessica Simpson, along with special guests such as Mr. T., Kenny Rogers, Jewel, Babyface, Kermit and Miss Piggy, and baseball legend Johnny Bench.

Since this item was missing from Image's recently announced July slate, we called over there and checked. Yes indeedy, this certainly is correct info. The item wasn't announced as part of the slate, though, because Image isn't ready with the other details, or the cover art. Stay tuned, though, because we'll be back with it when they set us up.

Oh......my.......freakin.......God...............

First off, they completely humiliate themselves. Now, they humiliate an 80's pop-culture icon.

'Scuse me all, I need to go gouge my eyes out.

Fan belt fluid?!??!?!?!

At first glance at the picture, the replica seems to look pretty accurate except for the wheels. I'd have to watch the video clip when I get home from work to see these SPM fins though. I'm glad someone posted a clip because I couldn't put myself through watching that show!

Ah, now I see that spoiler added to the nose looking at it more closely. Looked like light reflecting at first.

Wow! Now I can honestly see why that show didn't last. My old roomate last year watched it all the time. I made sure to leave the room when it was on.

Through that whole clip I just tried to picture William Daniels speaking. It made watching a bit less painful though it was still extremely lame. Poor K.I.T.T. :(
Flyer Guy: "You really a talking car?"
KITT: "No. I'm a tight end for the Chicago Bears!"

Okay...

First of all, I sort of liked it. I get the sense they were actually trying to pay a tongue in cheek tribute to KITT and Knight Rider and not ridicule them.

That said, KITT was nowhere near as...well...wuss-like...as that.

Plus, IF they were trying to be accurate, the shorty microphone should have been on the driver's seat, pointing at the (wrong) voice modulator.

And, surely if KITT was "crying" (which he would never do) his...uhm...coolant fluid would actually leak from the scanner area since it was the scanner, not the headlights, that served as KITT's eyes.

I tell you one thing though; It has definitely put me off the Dukes of Hazzard movie permanently. Sorry, but I didn't want to see Jessica Simpson as Daisy Duke before; now I certainly don't.

Oh boy. Well, anything with K.I.T.T. in it is worth watching once no matter how cheesy it is. It's all in good fun not to be taken too seriously. Of course we all know every little thing that was wrong with the car, but remember that the general audience wouldn't think twice about it. I agree the voice actor wasn't that bad also; I've heard much worse before.

Which episode was that?

Ugh! I could only watch like .5 seconds of that before I closed the window. I mean the car looked gopod but my discerning ears couldn't stand how fake the voice sounded. I mean it sounded like a guy pinched his noise and spoke. If anything he more sounded like someone doing a really bad Al Capone voice rather than K.I.T.T.

I said this before, it's strange, Knight Rider seems to just be in people's minds. It's not like Star Wars or James Bond or something but everyone knows what it is and it just pops up here in there, its kinda cool.

Interestingly, I saw the spoof before I really became involved in 'KR'. My sister was flipping through the channels when the special first aired and stopped during KITT's little monologe.

I am not proud to admit this, but the first time I caught an episode of 'Knight Rider' on the Sci-Fi Channel, I thought, 'Why does the car from that cruddy special have his own TV series, and why is he voiced by the guy who played John Adams in '1776'?'.

And yes, looking back at the special now, the spoof blows chunks. It's just awkward all around: the voice is not even an average impersonation, the song is a piece of dreck (KITT's rather flat too, although that's the joke), and come on, it's NICK AND JESSICA. :D

But you've got to admit that even today the Pontiac TransAm still looks hot. One of my neighbors owns one, but they take horrible care of it which makes me really sad. Just imagine some Ghetto Punk Wigger taking K.I.T.T. and sanding down his nice shuny paintjob and taking basic gray, interior paint and smearing it in random strokes all over his chassis. Add realy ratty looking interior seats and you can see why looking at that car depresses me.
