I suppose so, but KITT has displayed things in front of passengers that really shouldn't know those things... seems like a liability sometimes.

The audience is in the car to see it, and that's what matters. TOS did the same thing when KITT would track Michael's location on his scanners when he was evading the bad guys....KITT technically probably didn't need to display anything on his screens to do that, but hey, you gotta play to the audience.Lynda414 wrote:It's always struck me as odd how KI3T displays everything on his windshield, even if no one is actually in the car to see it.

One of the things that grab attention in books,TV,and movies is to show not tell.It makes the story interesting. You write fanfics, so I guess you already know that, but for some of you who don't,let me explain what it means. If KR was a TV or movie, and Mike hit the TURBO BOOST button, instead of hearing KI3T say he Turbo Boosted, we'd show it, or if it was a book, instead of writing "Mike pressed the TURBO BOOST button, and KITT drove through the wall.", someone would write "Mike quickly hit the TURBO BOOST button, and KI3T shot out of the parking space as if he were in a cannon, and he crashed through the near-by cement reinforced walls like a cannon ball breaking down the walls of a medieval citadel."Lynda414 wrote:It's always struck me as odd how KI3T displays everything on his windshield, even if no one is actually in the car to see it.
I still think they could SHOW what KITT's doing without displaying it on the HUD. For my fanfic, my KITT does a lot of things internally. Which is easier to write, because the reader doesn't have to physically see it to know what's going on. But if my fic was a show, I would have a kind of internal look of KITT's CPU Core. I think it would be cooler for the audience to see how KITT thinks.Sky_Blue_Civic wrote:One of the things that grab attention in books,TV,and movies is to show not tell.It makes the story interesting.
Which one would someone like to see or read?
