I got mine from Collectors Modeltoys, it's a finnish company and trustworthy. My model was delivered fast, well packaged and they also kept me informed very well.

I was wondering, how do you make the model stand on 2 wheels. I would really like to make it like that on my display, will post pics up soon.
Thanx

Simple, just use something small like a block or a piece of wood. When you take the picture, be sure the camera cannot see the object.

Here are a couple of quick photos of my second KITT model (Ertl's 2nd version, purchased here in Toronto, Canada a couple of weeks ago). Since the rest of the model is identical to Ertl's first version, I got shots of the front nose so that you can all see the new fog lights.

I used matchstick, there's suitable places in the models chassis to make it stay reliably on 2 wheels. Just be careful that the model doesn't fall on it's side, the mirrors will most likely break if that happens.

Thanks for the image PBH! From the pic, it is clear that the foglights on ERTL's first version looks better than the 2nd version even though the amber light has been corrected.. It looks just like the foglights on the Aoshima model..
Here is the first version from ERTL...

Man, I'm glad I got the first version cause the new lights look awful.

Is there any offical word on the release of the KARR model? I know sometime this summer, but depending on where you look, some places say May, some September. Just wondered if anyone had any sound facts on it. I need KARR to compliment my KITT and along with the Back to the Future II DeLorean, complete my crazy 80s cars collection.

Besides the fact that I collect model cars, I also felt that it'd be odd to have KITT & KARR (Coming soon) to have different fogs. Despite other inconsistancies, at least this is something that I can control.

The more I see those diecasts, unfortunately, the less I like them. The nose just doesn't seem "right" to me, especially since the fog lights are so prominent instead of sunk in more. I know sometimes KITT's fog lights were almost like a set of headlights instead. Sometimes they were sunk in and even hidden behind a type of grille (my favorite look). I like the more stealthy look with the fog lights sunk in a bit - visible but barely. These are just too "there". I couldn't see the spoiler too well but it looks like it's riding a bit too high in the back, or is it me?
I dunno. I think I'll enjoy the AMT kits I got.

I'm sure they will be inaccurate in some ways, but I think I'l like the representation a bit better.
But the die casts with the working scanner and stuff sure are cool collector's items, nonetheless.

The Back To The Future DeLoreans may proove to be a challenge to find. You should have little problem finding the new (December 2004) Part III version and possibly the Part II version, but Part I may prove to be a pain to find.

Part I & III were all over eBay last I checked.

I thought the same thing myself before I bought the models, FuzzieDice. But it's totally different having one in person, trust me. They're nice, shiny, heavy models that really feel well-made. Sure they're not perfect but I think they're definitely a must-have item for any
Knight Rider fan.

Well, there's still time before KARR arrives.

And I want to be absolutely sure I don't end up with a KITT with amber foglights too. So I'm still waiting. Also it kinda depends on how well my models turn out after I build them. I'll see.

off topic, but does anyone know if there are any plans to bring out the trans am from smkey and the bandit 2 or 3? thecar out of part 3 shoudn't be so hard as it looks similar to KITT.

What kind of Trans Am was it in part 2? In part 3, IIRC it was a black 1982 t-top similar to KITT. There is no official word from ERTL regarding a 1/18 scale diecast release of this car. I am also hoping for its release someday because it is the same car that Michael Long drove before he was shot in the KR pilot.

I don't know if there are plans to release a version of this car or not, but I suspect that it will be released as an ordinary Recaro Trans Am, and not specifically from the
Smokey and the Bandit series. Also, to be 100 percent accurate, the PMD seat mold will have to be removed for the seats featured in the film. So I think you'll at least partially get your wish. But you never know-- I'm no psychic.

Someone took his KITT model outdoors and took these photos:
http://www.ninthpage.homestead.com/test178.html
Got inspired by that site and took my model out too and here's the photos, first pic like KITT is in a desert and the rest kind of "KITT off road" pics:
I like how the paint reflects the sun and the environment

Going to try taking more pics outdoors when the weather is sunny again.
