Season 1 turbo boosts
I noticed that the turbo boosts in season 1 were far far FAR better than those in the later seasons. The car was really shown "flying"
In season 4, they just showed the model going overhead...
Any body would like to add something else...

I agree, the miniature turbo boost shots could never match the excitement of seeing the real car leaping through the air. But, without the special effects, we could never have had great sequences like K.I.T.T. jumping into Zachary's apartment (A GOOD KNIGHT'S WORK), saving Cara at the dam (KNIGHTMARES), or flying off the cliff in GOLIATH RETURNS.
As a side note, Turbo Boost was often used differently in Season 1, not just to leap into the air, but to leap through something. Take a look at the jumps through other vehicles in the PILOT/KNIGHT OF THE PHOENIX, KNIGHT MOVES, and WHITE BIRD. Those jumps really were something!

I still find it funny that, when KITT does turbo boost, you never see the car take off or land.
There always seems to be an object in the way.

to block the ramp obviously...
BUT, if you look in A nice INdecent little town, when he jumps between the two alley's (which, if I might add, is one of the best turbo boost shots), you can CLEARLY see the ramp.
If they can hide a return ramp they will show him land, if not, they'll cut away just before the Trans Am explodes into a billion little pieces

Michael: "KITT! Where are ya?!"
K.I.T.T.: "I'm in your parking space, Michael, where else would I be?"

I was watching 'inside out' the other night and felt weird when michael used ramps to perform that jump for that villain guy cos that's how it's done anyway.

yes, but i believe it was still quite rare to see kitt land. the majority of the time would have michael bouncing in his chair.

Re: Season 1 turbo boosts
Speaking of Models in the fourth season, what was up with the model in the mud? If anything I could see it would cause much damage to put a real car in the mud and floor it. These cars were obvious models.knighttwothousand wrote:I noticed that the turbo boosts in season 1 were far far FAR better than those in the later seasons. The car was really shown "flying"
