It's because it's easily noticeable, specially when they use footage from seasons 1-2, for example the night driving scene they usually employ... It breaks the continuity... And KITT was much cooler with 6 foglights

No, I wouldn't be able to buy one, at least for a few years. Here in Uruguay new cars are expensive (here a Dodge Challenger 5.7 V8 costs 89.900 dollars, for example). I'm just 18 and it will be some time before I'm able to purchase a car, perhaps after college. So it isn't a problem if I can buy it...

That's my point, expensive car sales wouldn't be very affected by the show. But the show needs a car whose sales can be affected so that the company which produces it is willing to provide cars.
