July 2013 Archives

Knight Rider Archives obtained a copy of the cover art for the upcoming Knight Rider digital comic from LionForge and illustrated by Lorenzo Lizana. It's starting to look pretty sweet, and even though this is an updated modern take, there is definitely some familiar cues to be had.

Things are continuing to looking positive as we hear more about their plans for this series. Writer Geoff Thorne has been pretty active via his twitter account so be sure to follow him there. Knight Rider Archives also asked some questions via twitter that they've consolidated into a post for easy archiving.

Be sure to remember to stop by your local Hallmark Gold Crown store this weekend for the 2013 Ornament Premiere where you can pick up your very own "KITT" ornament. KITT has the traditional bells and whistles - being battery operated and featuring scanner light effect and spoken phrases. Retails for $19.99.

We were able to get a sneak peak today at the packaging - hopefully this will hold you over until Saturday. And while we wouldn't describe KITT in exactly the same way (where is the turbo-boost?) we think it's a rad enough edition to our collection to overlook the oversight.

NBC Universal has announced a deal with Lion Forge Comics that would bring beloved shows from the 80s, including Knight Rider, back in comic form. They have tapped Geoffrey Thorne (of Leverage, Ben 10) as a writer and Jason Johnson (of Wetworks, Godstorm) to illustrate.

Not much is yet known about how much these comics will align with the Knight Rider many of us grew up with. However, when asked by Knight Rider Archives about this Geoff Thorne did say that it would be a "reboot. but you'll find all of it very familiar." We expect to find out more at San Diego Comic Con in two weeks.

The comics are planned for distribution in Q3 and Q4 2013, and will be available through the Amazon Kindle Bookstore, Apple iBooks, Barnes & Noble’s The Nook Book Store and Kobo.
