What computer voice?

Post by James_kr » Wed Aug 02, 2006 7:59 am

I am trying to decide which computer voice would be the closest to KITT's. Microsoft Sam isn't really the best sounding one and I want this sound good in a KITT replica. Can anyone help?

Try out Cepstral's William at Cepstral.com. You can then tweak the voice and download the voice patch file here: http://tinyurl.com/ld86t

This is about as close as I could find. And Cepstral voices are not expensive at all to purchase.

Good luck finding a KITT-like voice. William Daniels has a very unique voice so trying to replicate it in computer form will be pretty difficult. If anyone knows how, please do post!

I personally am also looking for the Paul Frees KARR voice as well.

there is a programme called something like "voice replicator" cant rember its proper name you play any voice through it EG some of kitts sound bits and it will adjust pitch tone and all to make a very accurate voice or though the programme costs close to £16,500 and is almost imposable to find because the way it can be used over the phone so it is illegal in alot of contrys

To make my question clearer.
I am looking for a voice that is close to KITT just nicer than MS Sam. I liked Fuzziedice's one maybe I will make a few for it I was really looking for a voice like the ones in Text To Speech and all. You can ask the time and MS Sam says it I just need a better voice to load I think I have a few that came with MS Voice.

How do you ask him the tmie? I know you can test him by going to control pannel and speech..But I've never used him any other way.

And for more fun, check out Ultra Hal Assistant from Zabaware (http://zabaware.com/) If you put a PC in a car (They do make them, google for VIA and Car PC), load it up with Windows and Ultra Hal Assistant, speech recognition and your favorite TTS voice. Then you could talk to KITT on the road! :) You'll need good noise-cancelling microphones though.

aussie.kitt has the perfect microphone its going to be awesome. Its going to be cool to talk to KITT using the sound effects. I realised that KITT doesn't have a clock on the dash so the voice recognition will be really helpful with that.
