Let's just hope that those pics are part of the prototype cars. Check out HLJ.com, they also have a new pic (I think) of the Aoshima KARR (front view too). Unfortunately, the color of KARR's scanner cannot be distinguished, its colored black. Hopefully when it lights up, its gonna be yellow. Strangely, the Aoshima KARR has white tire letterings now. Weird.

DanielB - did you purchase the ETRL model or the Aoshima?

I've got a pre-order for the ERTL version - awaiting it to arrive with the retailer.

Dan,
What's GPL's website? I'd like to see it...

http://www.grandprixlegends.com - go into the diecast website, and then click on the latest releases.

Dan,
Thanks, I saw it! Cool! But it doesn't say they have it in stock, does it? Did you speak to your contact there?

The item has always previoulsy had the standard ERTL photo, with a sentence saying that it's due in November. It no longer has a release date in the description, and they've got two pics which nobody else has.

My contact isn't with GPL - my pre-order is with a ModelZone branch. I've just been watching GPL's website for any changes, because they tend to get stocks of all diecasts before most other retailers, and they update their website quite often.

If the orange foglights are on the car, it'll re-inforce my decision to go with Aoshima.

White lettering on tyres I can take, orange fog lights i cannot.

Dan,
I wrote to GPL and asked if they had it in stock and ready to ship, or are they just taking pre-orders. I'll let you know what they say...

PS...I agree about the orange lights, but if they're stickers, not a big deal...

Cool - I've already e-mailed them about it before. Don't want to make a nuisance of myself....

Now the question is if the models have been officially released yet.... I sure hope that both ERTL and Aoshima will release the models at the same time.... Can u feel it, we are getting closer to its release!!!!

I would at least settle for some *official* pictures of the *finished* product, from the *official* Joyride site!

Just been looking around the net - http://www.exoticar.com has KITT in their "latest arrivals" section, and they have a photo of it. Sent an e-mail to confirm that they do have it in stock...

Image

Taking a closer look - it looks identical to the one in the GPL photos - i.e. no white lettering on the tyres, and the orange fog light. I think it's been released and this is what the ERTL version, at leats, will look like - just got an automated response from this company saying it will take anything upto 3 days to reply to my enquiry!

KB Toys

Post by corlando52 » Fri Nov 19, 2004 4:13 pm

I spoke to someone at the local KB Toys where they also have the General Lee and Monkeemobile. He says they don't get advanced notice of what's on the truck. He's getting a shipment today, but doesn't know if KITT's on it. I'll check back.

Did you not get an email back from GPL?

I think it's out now - will just take a week or so to hit stores from the warehouses. GPL is a warehouse - they don't have any other outlets, only their mail order service.

....I would think that places like Model Zone and Hamleys (in London) would have KITT in any day soon. There usually just as quick as GPL on getting their stock.

That's what I was thinking, even tho the paint job is spotty at best; The car looks good otherwise. :)
