Leaving on a jet plane for Knightcon...
Well I'm leaving on a jet plane to go to a spectacular event called Knightcon in the UK with the gorgeous and always mesmerizing Catherine Hickland! I'll be joining our other special guests Michael Scheffe and Rebecca Holden as well as we celebrate a Knight Rider event of a different kind across the pond.
We here in the states have Knight Rider Festival thanks to Paul Casey, but for England - Knightcon is the largest Knight Rider event out there and for me it stands apart as also the most intimate. You can get up close and personal with everything there from the memorbillia showroom to the guests themselves. Amazing people with big hearts and endless hospitality. I highly recommend if you every get the opportunity - take the trip, it's worth the lengthy flight to experience Knightcon for yourself.
Thanks to people like Rob O and Steve Fawcett and their talented and trained crew - this epic phenomeon continues to keep the global torch for Knight Rider burning bright.
With all that said...
Thanks for your support and thanks for keeping the spirit of Knight Rider alive. We can all make a difference, one generous act of kindness at a time.
Don't forget, Knight Rider Festival III returns March 18-19th, 2011 to Fremont Street in dazzling Las Vegas, NV. The things we have planned for next year's event will be leaps and bounds over your wildest expectations.

Re: Leaving on a jet plane for Knightcon...
Wishing you both the safest of journeys.
I will be there and hope to meet you all.
I did have a black Knight Rider replica jacket to wear, but sadly it's the wrong size. But I will be wearing the 'red' that he always wore. Bright red polo top.
If I ask my friends about Knight Rider, they are a little blazaaaa about it. So it will be such a treat to meet everyone who is as nutso about the show as I still am. And it will be a pleasure to meet Catherine, Rebecca and Michael.
See you all there.

Hear hear. I think the fact that KnightCon takes place at a much smaller venue than the KR FestivalVictor Kros wrote: Knightcon is the largest Knight Rider event out there and for me it stands apart as also

helps to makes the event as friendly and as sociable as it is. It does seem to get bigger every year,
it might eventually outgrow the regular venue they've used since 2007.
I'm surprised you didn't get a direct flight straight to Manchester Airport, rather than going via London.Victor Kros wrote: Catherine and I are officially in London!

Our airport isn't quite as big as Heathrow or Gatwick, but it is the biggest UK airport outside London.
Eitherway ... welcome to the UK to the both of you . . .

Great news ThomasKnight. I'm heading up there tomorrow morning. Couldn't make it this evening.
All pics gratefully received.
Hopefully they can all be uploaded ot th eEvent on Facebook, or someone can make a album on there for everyone to view hundreds of pics.
What dash does the car have that you looked in?

Re: Leaving on a jet plane for Knightcon...
I'll be travelling from Whitefield to Bury Interchange on the First Manchester 135 bus service, then from
there to Rochdale on the 471 route, followed by the 590 or 528 from Rochdale, to Halifax Bus Station.
I think the bus I need to get from there to the Premier Inn Hotel on Salterhebble Hill may have changed
operators from First Calderdale to Arriva since last year, so it might cost me somewhat more than I'd
paid for the £4 FirstDay ticket that was valid on all the buses I used to get to last year's event.
Approximate possible journey times for me tomorrow morning ... not including waiting time . . .
135 to Bury - 10-15 mins (First Manchester)
471 to Rochdale - 35 mins (First Manchester)
590 to Halifax - 90 mins (First West Yorkshire)
or
528 to Halifax - 60 mins (Huddersfield Bus Company)
The journey from Rochdale to Halifax on the 528 bus service maybe 30 mins shorter, but my FirstDay
ticket won't be valid, whereas if I take the 90 minute journey on the 590 bus service, it will be valid.
Eitherway, I've got a fairly long journey on up to 4 buses ahead of me tomorrow between Whitefield
and the KnightCon venue ... then back again in the evening! I'll probably be home by about 10pm!
Unless anyone with a KITT replica wouldn't mind giving me a lift back to Manchester . . . ?!?

Re: Leaving on a jet plane for Knightcon...
I apologize for the crappy quality - getting photos was really tough for me at the Knightcon Welcome Knight party but here's two shots I thought looked decent enough despite the lighting and well severe jet lag! I don't have the luxury of my usual photoshop retouching magic here in the UK but I'm trying my best to let you see what it's like here as Knightcon's festivities get under way!
Myself, Michael Scheffe, and Rebecca Holden made the VIP party. Cat really went through a lot to get here and will join everyone with her usual radiant self at today's event! Should be amazing and I hope to get some fantastic photos to share with you all soon.
Enjoy! Should have more to show later.

Nick,
The last pic looks as if you were in my KITT's garage, Michael saw the garage a few weeks ago when
he was our special guest at the the LeMay Auto Museum.
Great pics so far, very cool.

Re: Leaving on a jet plane for Knightcon...
It was a fantastic day!
Catherine Hickland, Rebecca Holden, Michael Scheffe and Nick Nugent all made terrific efforts to make the day special and one that will be the most memorable for me as I thought it was an even better experience than Vegas this year!
The setup, the rare props from the series (were they originals?) and just the general organisation of it made it feel more exclusive for the real fans.
The only real complaint was the queue for the autograph signing moved at a snail's pace unlike the one in Vegas where it moved quickly, however, I do feel the celebs actually made more of a caring effort for their fans here during the session, hence why it took longer.
That's not to say that KRF cannot still out-do Knightcon but it will need to do some serious catching up, however, both were great in their own way!
A massive thumbs up!
Now, roll on Vegas....
