Ed: In KR's defense, fuel WAS a lot cheaper back then. The budget for KR would triple if they had to use actual fuel for the fires and for the idle chatting in car driving scenes
Here's a couple of mine:
EVENT HORIZON - While experimenting on a new propulsion system for KI3T to completely eliminate his dependency on conventional fuels, Billy creates the "Gravity Drive" engine to power KI3T's propulsion and computer system. During the initial test run, Mike and KI3T mysteriously disappear as they approach supersonic speeds. With no trace of Mike and KI3T, the test was deemed a failure and the duo was presumed dead and lost. The SSC was subsequently shut down with all Knight Industries employees fired and federal agents reassigned. 14 months later, KI3T and Mike "miraculously" reappear in a remote and mostly unpopulated area without so much as a scratch on them. The Knight Research team, all haven't worked since the failed test and still haunted by the memories of that day, is quickly reassembled and dispatched to investigate Mike and KI3T disappearance and reappearance. They are brought to a remote and secret research facility where Mike is quickly and quietly placed under psychiatric evaluation while KI3T is looked over by Charles and Billy. Mike is mostly unresponsive to questions while KI3T behaves irratically and refuses access to his systems, although stopping short of using weapons. Then begins a series of increasingly bizarre sights and disturbances...
SILENT HILL - During the drive home from a successful mission, Mike receives a garbled and barely intelligible phone message. However, Mike could distinctly tell the voice was his mother's and the words "Silent Hill" were the only words audible after KI3T makes several attempts to remove the interference. KI3T tells Mike that it was impossible that it was Mike's mother since she died a year ago (as we all know). KI3T also informs Mike that "Silent Hill" is actually a small town located just a short distance away from their location. Mike eventually convinces KI3T to postpone a rendezvous with the team at the SSC in order to investigate the message. Upon arriving near the city limits, KI3T apparently hits a small girl standing in the middle of the road who seemed to appear out of nowhere. Mike and KI3T are mystified since the girl did not show up on scanners and a diagnostic showed that KI3T's systems were operating perfectly - even though KI3T's impact sensors clearly registered an impact consistent with that of striking a young girl at their then speed. Mike exits the car to check on the girl and saw that no one was there. A rolling fog quickly descends upon them and Mike could see nothing on the road or the surrounding area except for KI3T's double red scanners. KI3T then informs Mike that the dense fog is mysteriously having a detrimental effect on KI3T's communication and navigation systems. Unable to call anyone and with no way to navigate out of the fog, Mike and KI3T are left with no choice but to continue their investigation on Mike's mother, her history, her message, her relationship to the seemingly dead town of Silent Hill, and how it is all connected to Mike's memory lapses and their mutual unspeakable past.
The Invasion - Upon Mike and KI3T's return from a long undercover assignment, Alex and Charles informed them that Knight Industries was closing its doors and that the services of the SSC and the pilot program are no longer needed. Mike clearance is revoked and KI3T was deactivated awaiting immediate disassembly. Horrified by these turn of events and mystified by the lack of any rational explanation, Mike sneaks into the Knight Industries disposal facility and rescues KI3T from permanent destruction. They find that at seemingly every turn, people they once knew acted nothing like their old selves and uniformly tried to detain them for Alex and Charles. With no support from those they knew and trusted, Mike and KI3T must solve the mystery of everyone's strange behavior before it consumes them as well.
That's all I can remember for now, maybe more later.
