NBC publicity campaign begins this week
This week NBC will be releasing teaser footage for their new Knight Rider project. I can't say that they will be airing commercials yet, but keep an eye on all of the entertainment shows. They will be getting media kits this week.
I do not know which shows will choose to air the footage.

Watch 'American Gladiator', I've heard that the Knight Rider Cast did some kind of audience appearance at a taping this week.
I've also heard that the voice of KITT will be Will Arnett (Blades of Glory).
Apparently, filming is going VERY well, and NBC is liking what they're seeing. They're gearing up for a big push, so you should see lots of promo in the next month or two.

That's correct, Joe. It looks like filming will wrap around December 22.Joe Huth wrote:Thanks for the info, Shapeshifter. Could you also let us know when filming wraps? I know there are some on the board (myself included) who like to keep track of this information. Filming began 11/26/07, correct?
Thanks,
Joe
BTW, everyone's very excited about the stunt work. They're really pushing the 'Stangs, and getting some great stuff, movie quality. The Shelby in the leaked pics, while it is used, is not the super modified version, no one's seen that one yet.
A lot to look forward to!

So are you saying the leaked car shifts to a modified version - like super pursuit mode or the Viper car?

That's a relief, because the Shelby in the leaked pics looked 100 percent stock. By the way, can you provide any insight as to why the Mustang was chosen? Is it strictly because Ford is affiliated with NBCU, or was there an actual thought process behind the decision that the Mustang would suit nicely for the car of choice?Shapeshifter wrote:The Shelby in the leaked pics, while it is used, is not the super modified version, no one's seen that one yet.

Yes, I believe it's something like that, but I'm getting into an area where I'm talking out of my a**. All I know for sure is that there is a more modified version that gets used, as well as the car we've seen. How and why the transition is made, and what it looks like, I have no clue.neps wrote:So are you saying the leaked car shifts to a modified version - like super pursuit mode or the Viper car?

The decision was in part an economic one--Ford made the best offer. However, this decision also was in keeping with the philosophy behind this new version; that it should be a fresh approach. That's why you see (almost) all new faces, and a new voice for KITT. The choice of car is part of that philosophy--that there should be very little of the original in this show, beside the basic premise. I'm pretty sure, though, that the car we haven't seen yet will look much more like what you'd hoped to see.Lost Knight wrote:That's a relief, because the Shelby in the leaked pics looked 100 percent stock. It looks like something might be happening:
PAJARO! Read alert!
http://jalopnik.com/cars/knight-rider/i ... 333022.phpThe Knight Rider Mustang story we first broke last month, and then brought you the first pictures of a week later, is now officially official, KITT from the new Knight Rider series is a Shelby Mustang GT500KR. Goodbye, F-Body. Hello, Ford body. We've got a reporter live at a press conference going on right now in sunny California so we'll have her video and photos shortly. We're also assuming we'll have the full press release up after the jump in a few minutes. For now, sit back and reminisce -- and whatever you do, don't go here.
