At least I found out what that black string in the back of the two cars are for.
How did u manage to get KITT from hlj? I thought KITT has been out of stock there for quite some time already...up till now, it still is....
Yes, I received mine from hlj. I place my order with them even if they show something on back order. The FLAG semi was also on back order and I received that in no time as well.

Its like that at hlj sometimes. It may read back-ordered or out of stock. Then as soon as new stock comes in, they already have orders to cover the incoming stock, so it instantly goes out of stock again...no way they would bother updating that sort of movement of stock. As long as its backordered and customers place an order, you can expect hlj to get the stock.

Did you get your cars yet Imran?

Hi all! I finally have the 1/43 KITT and KARR. Wow!!! I am so satisfied with the detail of both cars. Nice job on the scanner too!!! This 1/43 KR cars are like the Hot Wheels version...only thing is that it is 2 times bigger and with a detailed dashboard... What more cld u ask for in a Knight Rider model. It may be small, but the detailing is just unbelievable.... The rims on the two cars are so perfect!!! One flaw about the cars thought are the wipers. If I'm not mistaken, the wipers in the 1982 trans-am cars were actually hidden. But its only a minor flaw.... Still the best knight rider diecast ever made!!!

This is really worth the wait..

I have posted some pics of the cars in my online album. I even managed to take a clearer picture of the dashboard in KITT!!!!

Nice job on the pics. How did you get the dash shot?

Don't know about the wipers but I suppose someone who actually has a Trans AM will set us straight.

For the dash shot, I set my digital cam to macro mode so it can take clearer pics of a close object. Voila!! Actually, all the shots of the cars were by macro mode. That is why its sharp and clear. Macro mode is best used for close up pics.

This is my best Knight Rider buy ever!!! Can't stop admiring it...

I guess I have the same fascination as u Sarfraz, I'm so amazed by the rims....its so perfect!!! Oh ya, and I really like the mirror-like thingy on the display base so we can see the reflection of the other side of the car..

Really solid detailing done by Aoshima for the cars. Good effort indeed..

Oh ya, another thing.....is it just me or is KARR's scanner brighter than KITT's???

...thats how I did mine (macro mode)....but you just seem to have a better light source. Saying that, it wasn't a bright day when I took my pictures (gloomy and raining!).

I had to focus my digital camera so that it will become clear. Keep focusing on the object by slightly tapping the button u use to snap ur pics. Thats how I did it...

WOW! These look fantastic. I'm from Australia and have just ordered mine. Unfortunately i didn't see the Credit Card option until i just clicked the button to go to the checkout. Do they give you the option to change the payment method?

I'm really looking forward to getting these in the post!

...assuming your talking about hlj.com. Best bet is to contact them, I'm sure they can help you out:

http://www.hlj.com/overview/hlj_contact.html

Hope that helps

Ahh. Cheers for that. I did get them through HLJ.com.. The email that came from them states:
HLJ.com wrote:Please note that this order will not be entered into our accounting systems until May 6. At that time, we will send you an order confirmation message with your customer ID, order number and other information..
When I receive this confirmation of order I will contact them then to change my payment details.

Sarfraz, in the mean time, would it be possible to get some nice hi-res images [say 1024x768 or over - if you have an ADSL/Cable connection] from you showing this magnificent detail? I will PM you with my email addy if you can send me some.

Regards

I find it really very hard to see the interior of the 1/43 KITT and KARR... I want to see if Aoshima included the pedals of KITT and KARR beneath the dash.... very hard to see... Any chance u might be able to spot it sarfraz?

Wow. I had to admit, from the initial photos on HLJ's site I wasn't too thrilled about getting these. But as I can now see, these are far more detailed than the larger Aoshima cars.

I'll certainly have to keep my eyes out for them... and I can't believe they have working scanners! :D Great stuff from the Japanese again.

Yeah Sith, there are near perfect replicas of KITT and KARR. If you want more pics, I have some on my site and so does imranbecks. If your intent on buying them, you'll have to get them from abroad (ebay or hlj.com) as I doubt you'll see these in the UK.

Oh, to answer your question imran, there are definitely some foot pedals (painted black) within the car. Its near impossible to see them but I did managed to see them in very bright sunlight. you'll need to look from the right rear (near the right corner of the spoiler) looking towards the dash and steering wheel. Its really tricky, but as long as you have a light source in the direction of the foot-well, you should be able to make them out. The brake pedal is more obvious than the accelerator, but their there. Testimont to Aoshima's attention to detail.

Oh ok..thanks Sarfraz.. I will give it a try... It really makes me wonder though, have Aoshima missed any details out..... I really don't think so

I hope Aoshima will make a variant such as the convertible KITT and super-pursuit KITT.... What I really want though, is a die-cast of the FLAG trailer...... that wld be cool!!!

Haha.. no worries mate.. Maybe one hi-res image? Pretty please? :D

My order has been confirmed and I have now changed the payment method. I will take some nice hi-res images for people once I have these babies in my hot little hands.

I can't believe I didn't notice this earlier..... Do u have any idea what are those extra 6 squarish buttons on the left side of the TV monitor on the dashboard in the 1/43 cars???

After comparing pics of the real dash, i noticed those buttons don exist in KITT.... Why did Aoshima add those extra buttons when it isn't present in the real dash...?

Those aren't buttons: they are telltale displays.

Telltale displays? What do you mean?
