That's a nose I sculpted for Wraith Innovations and will be available soon. I have not got to the fog area yet. You might want to ask somebody like Joao, or Andy G...... They are here on the forum...I'm getting excited... Did a couple of things here and there and now I'm about ready to get some alignment issues fixed and get this dash with some electronics....getting excited..!!! Don't look either at my overlays, they are just taped in. Just excited. By the way, what I did was, after digging out the glass to fit the original bezels, the rest of the dash to me, looked warped after I took the glass out. so basically from the TV area to the VBox, it kind of had a warp look to it after taking the glass out for the bezels...thing was..... I also put the alignment of the wheel to be parallel with the body lines, so I modded the pods, and will eventually get the steering wheel aligned too. crap part about it all, is... I just couldn't do it to just one side, because then one side would be bigger than the other. So I made them parallel with the pod units and steering wheel. I know, I'm crazy, just ask some of the long termers.... they can tell ya so too!!!

HEY, it's me again, been working on finding something for that middle section of the upper console.....meaning the original rocker switches. I couldn't find them , nor have a bunch of the hard core addicts either, but this is what I decided to go with. I thought they gave the feel of the Knight Rider theme, so anyway. I know it's not mounted yet and I should have waited on pics with it in, but that's going to take some time to make the panel for the rockers align up with the upper/probably will be modding that also to make fit flat with panel. Anyway. Just thought I'd share some excitement, plus that plate for the rockers was an old plate from previous KR stuff, so I had to mod the plate to make work. It worked and turned out nice. Is it true to the show, don't know? Don't know what Scheffe used , but this is my end of the search for me..... Talk with you guys later.

Those are 2nd season...If you look at the pilot , where KITT and Michael argue, you can see the bigger rocker switches. The whole 1st season upper is WAY bigger than the 2nd season. Anyway... I'll try to get a screengrab up before long...I've got plenty of pics of those buttons. Later

That was resused stock footage though, as the upper console was modified for season 3, replacing the colored buttons with backlit ones. :good:

Here's a screengrab where I was talking about....Yey, they are clear , but I really like the rockers I got. They kind of fit the theme.....

This is about the best of the upper I have and can find...these in this screengrab are pushed all kinds of ways. Sort of crazy looking if you ask me....and we wonder why we can find it....

Happy Halloween....Hope all is well for Halloween, my wife's favorite part of the year. Anyway.... Got to work on the upper some more, did some little modding here and there and now the Rockers look at home. I'm really liking them alot now.... and the upper.. I had to flatten that area out more by raising it some on the back tail area of rockers. Now the upper has a little more tilt, but I like it. Anyway. Just excited like normal, oh and ignore the paint job and pinholes, I still have alot to do before last paint.... ALOT.... Talk with ya later!!! and again, Happy Halloween.!!!!

The over head console shot from the pilot.I know things have changed from the pilot but the overhead console looked like a punch of big buttons not switches to me.\

yey, I agree...they look like buttons. This is why it was so hard for me to decide. They must have used different style buttons at some point. I agree. The first screengrab is the rockers. The one you posted looks like buttons. I've seen this also. They definately changed them at some point. Why, don't know. Thanks for sharing

Ok, another post by me...... Ok , this is something I got from Joe Russo a long time ago, but , since I started the interior and got everything aligned up correctly, I can actually start building the dash . I am doing these in sections, for reasons of if somebody needs pictures of installs being done, they could look at this, and, I can look back as kind of a diary. So anyway.....

I started the pods after test fitting and the wheel too. I feeled in the hole area on the steering wheel and also ........... after doing the lower console and matching paints to the black plastic in the car, I had to make everything else the same color. The pods from Joe were the cast color of blk cast, so I took the buttons apart and painted the pod area satin blk also. Everything now should match up correctly color wise. The gullwing is getting primed and ready for paint, but will definately put up pics of the two together(Ya THINK?) Anyway. Here's a pic of the pods after being painted. Turned out nice/took awhile, but doesn't everything in this hobby? I am going to also split the ribbon cable for installation reasons....If I had connectors, I could just plug and play on each. Talk with ya'll later. oh, am I the only one posting anymore?

Marc

The overhead console switches for the Pilot/S1 were always rocker swithces.

The reason it may appear to be pushbutton switches is because the caps on the original rockers were clear with red and green filter inserts. What you are seeing in the screen cap posted above is glare on the end of the rocker switches making them appear as a different style button.

The original rocker switches didn't have a bezel/s surrounding the rockers. They were mounted in the console below the surface, so that just the caps protruded.

I outlined the rocker switches in white to show the shape of the switches and this also shows how all 5 switches were switched in the 'ON' direction of the driver.

I agree Andy! I was going to do that, make them almost flush, still can, just have to put washers to bring them up, but I can always do that. I definately see what your saying. There are a bunch of illusions in the Knight Rider stuff. Thanks for pointing that out, now your going to make me go change mine......AAAAaaaaahhhhh :D .....Jjokin. Talk with ya later bro! :good:

I don't know they still look like buttons to me.Sometimes 1 button might be a different shade or a bit pressed in.They didn't exactly make sure every led light on the dash was working properly either for the entire series. Will you be putting in a section on the overhead console for the clock or number gage countdown?I'm not exactly sure what was being measured on yellow overhead counter.

Hey Knight Racer, that is the countup, most I've seen start counting the time you turn the ignition on.... It count up to see how long it's been running .Just a trucking along pretty nicely, nice when you have a 4-day weekend.....Turbo Boost!!! Excuse the sandmarks, but I had to make a little more room on the pods for these pod buttons. Been working on the Gullwing, just time like normal. I really wish Thone and Joe would still make these. ...... They are great! Love em.... Now where is that Gullwing? Jjokin...Just a truckin along.......See ya later, ya know that!

Wow!I really love those button pods.I know theres 2 sets of button pod styles people go for but I can imagine those installed in the dash and it just looks great. Will you be installing a blood analyzer or chemical analyzer? If you are a smoker,I'd go with chemical analyzer(knightmares reference).

I've been slammin some stuff out here lately , I have alot of band stuff coming up , so during the breaks, I knock out as much as I can. This 4-day weekend helped alot. Wow! The upper console done! This thing has so many looks to it. I've found screengrabs where certain things look way different than others. Very weird, but , here is my go of it with what is available from Knight Designs , Lectric Enterprises, a Cessna Airplane, and a bunch of time.... Thanks for lookin!

Image

Image

I was powering it with some 9volts , not bright , bright, but decent. Oh well , that's my take of the overhead and now I'm moving on.... Here's Four things done.......Lower, upper, pods, and nose.... Steering wheel will have to be redone, had some blemishes, but very close now. Can't wait to have the Gullwing done, as after that, I begin the dash! yes! This is Marc , signing off for a bit.
Image

Still like the nose, can't wait to see Ken's 1st season of the nose!
