After the episode Goliath,we found out that kitts mbs can be created if any 2 of 3 of the key people Wilton trusted could come together and make the shell.I think after the fourth season premiere, kitt was probable coated in spm mode, otherwise that would be a very weak point to use to destroy kitt.No one realy knew of kitt, let alone his spm mode.

My reasoning was always that "Pursuit" was faster than "Auto Cruise" and "Normal Cruise", so "Super Pursuit Mode" would be to "Pursuit" what a super-sized meal at McDonald's is to a regular meal -- in this case more speed rather than more fries.neps wrote:Yea, I always thought "Pursuit" mode was for when they were chasing after something or someone. If this was the case then SPM was named wrong. Although SPM was never used to chase a bad guy, it was used to get to some place quicker, to "catch" up to that place faster. So it was in "pursuit" of its destination. I guess its a bit of a stretch.

Ever notice Michael would always button up before entering a dangerous situation with one exception "Scent of Roses" anyway I have a theory on this. While there really isn't any proof of it in the series. When Bonnie invented SPM Kitt didn't have the MBS. It was reapplied later. So my theory is that when Kitt is in SPM the gray area's under where all the stuff pop out might be vulnerable spots where the MBS wouldn't have been applied. That would be a possible reason why they all but once didn't take SPM all the way into danger.
What about the possibility that if the car is going that fast, it's going to be harder to react in dangerous situations? Notice that except for "Knight of the Juggernaut" and one or two other times, Michael always uses SPM on the open highway, where it's not likely that he's going to have to dodge traffic. (it also makes it easier to film, 'cause then you don't have to worry about furniture vans whipping by at 200 mphknightimmortal wrote:Great minds think alike, I always had that theory as well. It would also be an accountable theory as to why they never considered slamming through things in SPM, why they didn't turbo boost, that kind of thing.
