Knight Rider movie casting RUMOR
*** RUMOR ONLY *** *** RUMOR ONLY *** *** RUMOR ONLY ***
Cinescape posts a lot of rumors with little basis in fact at times, but here's what at least one person is saying about the new Knight Rider movie:
"And now for the big 'tada' which you may (or may not) consider good news, they said they had already been in discussions with Paul Walker for the role and that he’d expressed interest in this project rather than doing another FAST AND THE FURIOUS movie. "

Interesting. I'd certainly prefer him over Affleck anyday to be honest.
I think he could pass for Michael Knight's son better than Affleck too.

I could actually live with Walker being an all new Michael Knight in a retro movie. Theres something rough and rugged about the guy that makes me think he could actually take on a bar full of Comtron truckers and come out on top. Plus it'd be a perfect reason to keep Kitt as an 1982 trans am if they went retro with Walker behind the wheel. If they can do it for Starsky Hutch, then i'd love them to do it for Knight Rider.
Welcome aboard the Knight 2000.
Thank you. What's all this, it looks like Darth Vader's bathroom?

Sorry, but no. While I enjoyed him in F&F and Joy Ride, he'd be one of these actors that girl teens go to just to see his looks and the guy's for the fast cars.
It'd draw the same F&F crowds, which I wouldn't want.
I'd choose Affleck since he at least draws a more mature audience...maybe because of the choice of films he has been in but still.
And well, I can't see a blonde guy(did i get it right this time?) wearing a black leather coat.
just doesn't look right.
I know Hasslehoff was blonde but it wasn't subtle.

cool, but i still prefer Affleck. of course, neither actor would go against that KITT since it would be a newer version of the TA or some other car.

lol, nifty work there math_scott!
I, myself, didn't see the Fast & Furious movies so I have no idea how good this guy is but I think he'd be better than Aflak. And there is an odd resemblance between Michael Knight and that guy that definetly helps... I honestly couldn't think of anyone better at this point. Sure, he'd draw a lot of the people who enjoyed F&F but that isn't entirely a bad thing... the movie peoples would get the money they want and hopefully the peoples who went to see it for the hot guys and fast cars would get something more out of it and want to check out the series. The more money they get, the more Knight Rider we get (as sad as that may be at times), so I don't mind, even if the people going to see it are shallow 14 year olds that consider Hondas muscle cars...

The upcoming portion of the cinescape site used to be at corona.bc.ca and they used to have a 70% successful track record, so take that as you will for this rumor. So many names are being tossed around for this movie, it's hard to take any of them seriously until picture is committed to film.
I don't mind Paul Walker as a possible canidate. I would probably prefer him over Affleck (he acts too old and a bit too stiff). He would attrack the F&F crew, but after 2 FF films and a third on the way, I think he might be a little tight cast, and I'd be surprised if he'd want to do the film.
Nice image Matthew!

Thanks Neil and SwEeTiNsAnItY.
I find it interesting that the passage on cinescape says he would rather do Knight Rider than another Fast and the Furious film, which i'm sure he loves doing. But as you say Neil, maybe its to try and be known as more than the guy who stared in all the Fast and the Furious films. I also agree that he does have an odd resemblence with the Michael Knight we already know and love SwEeTiNsAnItY. Long ago when news first broke of a KR movie, i thought that it could do far worse than starring Paul Walker being the new Michael Knight (which was long before the idea of his son popped up... which i hate by the way) because he has the right kind of look, and some real beleivability when it comes to fight scenes... and not to mention the ability to bring in big bucks at the box office, which is something David Hasslehoff most lilky could'nt do in the same circumstances.

I hated F&F, but I could live with Paul Walker if they cast him. He bears at least a passing resemblance to Hasselhoff, and, most important in my mind, HE'S NOT AFLAC!
As for attracting the F&F crowd, I'm sure that's the kind of audience that whatever studio picks the project up is going to aim it towards anyhow. Studios care about one thing only: BOX OFFICE.

I know who you mean knightman, but i personally feel he wouldn't be very good for the part. I didn't find him particularly convincing for Jake 2.0 either though, so thats probably why i'm against him for KR.

Christopher Gorham? Yea, I don't think so. Paul Walker, much much better choice.

Hold one second!
I don’t remember if anyone already said this, but the actor who plays Michael Knight’s son doesn’t have to look like David Hasselhoff because he plays Michael KNIGHT not Michael LONG. Derh! LOL
And Paul Walker’s hawk is named “Ladyhawke” after the movie.
