But to me it's time for a change, look at the enterprise, they had more starship enterprises than ever.KITT_Vs._KARR wrote:Been watching this topic for awhile now...
I think both you KITT_24 & Knight Racer need to take a huge chill pill and relax. You both are welcome to your own opinions about either car, and which one would make a great KITT. I keep seeing either hate for the mustang or the camaro. Both are awesome cars, and I'm sure many people would love to have one.
However, this debate seems honestly pointless... The show is long gone, the mustang had its change and well the CGI effects cost it the show. I can say that I don't think it would work again, they tried it, now its time to move on to something better.
The Original 82 Trans Am is what I will stick with, nothing wrong with using the same original car and having it updated to today's tech, which would make KITT even better than before!
If it were me, and I had my choice I wouldn't use any of these cars, I'd have one designed to be all original and not based on a current model of car. Think about it, it would kinda stop the debates if they used their own designed car.

Right, the enterprise name will always be used. But on newer looking starships. In the world of KR, there is always room for change, be it a camaro, mustang, vette, or a custom made car.kitt34 wrote: But to me it's time for a change, look at the enterprise, they had more starship enterprises than ever.

Re: KITT Cars My History.
Well, the thing about Star Trek is that it began with a decent enough Enterprise, then it was refitted and became majestic classic, then we got the Enterprise D which was stately and regal and a modern classic. then the Enterprise C in the time travel episode, which was also a nice crossway between the older designs the Enterprise D.
And then the Enterprise B in Generations, which while not that great (just a needless retrofitting of an Excelsior class ship), was certainly not bad.
But if we follow Knight Rider, it doesn't hold up like that. First we got the original model, then the refitt one, and then after that things went downhill. We got the ugly KR2000 movie car, painted bullseye red. Then we got a cavalcade of ugly cars in TKR, culminating in the modern ugly, KR (2008).
Then the Enterprise E came along and ruined everything. I suspect that same will happen with what ever K.I.T.T. we see on TV or movie screens eventually. That Enterprise J in some calander and starship books in bookstores, is supposed to be cannon; if that's so, I propose a new catch phrase: "To bodly design an even uglier ship than any man has design before!"
Really, Federation starship designs started getting uglier and uglier as soon as TNG was over. The last good looking Federation ship, wasn't even a real one, it was an alternate timeline ship, the Olympus.
And then the Enterprise B in Generations, which while not that great (just a needless retrofitting of an Excelsior class ship), was certainly not bad.

And when things appeared to get better, they got worse, and everyday was a day to cry.

If you recall in season 2 soul survivor, when kitt becomes portable and is in the passenger seat of Devon's Mercedez,he says that he used to be sleek, black, and dashing. To me that's what describes the camaro. It still has some of those curves from the 80's.The trans am and camaro did share many similarities which is one of the reasons its how I picture kitt could look like today.

How you pictured the camaro and trans am was thru your eyes we dont see thur are eyes. You need glasses cause i dont see similarities!
When they brought the camaro back in 2009 they base it off the old 1st gen camaros not the 3rd gen camaros.
The only american car today that has similarities like the 82-92 trans am is the corvette in which the new 2014 vette looks awesome!

I just wanna jump in, and say I think ALL of your choices deserve equal merit! Everyone should agree on 1 thing, that all of your "new KITT" picks are light years better than that weird electronic egg shaped KITT thingy that TKR gave us... that was truly hideous and unforgivable!

LMAO!!!!
YES!! There it is! Lamely labeled "K.I.T.T.", with a teeny tiny sensor light, in case, ya know, we forgot... Seriously, look how much cooler the "Soul Survivor" CPU was, at least that had semblance of computer technology.
I'm with you Knight Racer, that's where I draw the line too!

Love all through different opinions about KITT....as long as it stays "above the belt". Personally Id prefer a 3000 Gt/Stealth. With or without Flip Up headlights....or the Pontiac Rageous.....or the FireBreather. Even I can't stick to one choice. But as long as its NOT an ORANGE Charger.

Re: KITT Cars My History.
It's funny you should bring that up Nicholas,I was into the 300GT just before TKR aired the episode KRO.I was thinking given the shape and lines in 97,it looked like a slightly different 97 trans am.More aggressive looking.I felt it would have made a better replacement vehicle for kitt instead of a ferarri.

My thoughts exactly....but maybe there was trouble getting the rights. I remember that Bandit on the Action Pack used the Stealth.....and in the pilot episode of VIPER, the baddies used slightly modified Stealths. (Lil known fact -- several actors from the Viper Pilot were from Knight Rider 2010.)

Re: KITT Cars My History.
Technically, KITT's already been a 3000GT/Stealth. That's what the base car was for Knight Rider 2000. They styled it to sort of look like a Banshee, as most KR fans on this site know, they started with the Stealth. I, for one, would be cool with any car they choose for KITT as long as they keep him as something sporty. As long as they aren't making him some kind of luxury family car or something. It doesn't even have to be domestic made. I've even thought in the past the a Nissan Z car with some modifications would make a cool KITT.
