NATPE (National Association of Television Programming Executives) hosts an annual conference where studios try to sell syndicated programs to local television stations. Fifteen years ago, Variety published their NATPE preview issue with a little bit of coverage of Team Knight Rider.
At this point, the show hadn't begun filming yet. They didn't even know what the cars were going to be. So the press photos Universal released was intentionally very vague.
(We'll be digging into our archives all year as part of the Knight Rider 30th anniversary celebration. Lot of old articles will come up again, and we have some "new" oldies as well.)
