Great work, I love the way you compare the shots from the show with the real thing.

Great find, Joe! This made me go back to the episode and find another location ~10 blocks from the Church.Joe Huth wrote:Found the church from "Race for Life" last night by accident - I googled "Red brick church Los Angeles" and it came up on one of the first image results!
Scene: the Taco place where Michael and KITT looked for Julio (Taco Bravo can be spotted clearly.)
Address:
3500 N Broadway
Los Angeles, CA 90031
Today on Google Street View: http://maps.google.com/maps?f=q&source= ... 03,,0,7.98" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
next unknown location: Ronaldo's Lecheria store (should be in the same region, too!)

Sue --
Sorry, I did not reply sooner, but I was not here very often lately.
Unfortunately, the current owners of the Arden Villa do not offer any tours of the property. I guess this is the reason why you never got any reply. I was lucky to be there in 2004 when the owners in those days were quite open to fans and location research.

Just to follow up another location in "Race for Life"
The location where Michael bought some licorice
and KITT captured the gang member (Santos).
Approximate address:
2405 Eastlake Ave, Los Angeles, CA, United States
The booth is still in business today!
Google Street View: http://maps.google.com/maps?f=q&source= ... 14,,0,8.08" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

coming next (also in this episode): Conquerors's territory

Nice find! I had been looking for that "Race for Life" location for a while now!
Here's another one, however I can't take credit for this one - Paul at the Knight Rider Archive gave me some huge clues as to the whereabouts of this building (thanks, Paul!)
Armorbuilt Carriage Works:
20555 Earl St, Torrance, CA

Re: Locations ?
Hello KR fans!
I've been looking over this thread all day from work and it's been so much fun! I'm excited to say I have information on one of the areas on page 14 called Via Verde Point. I grew up here! Via Verde is the name of a community in San Dimas, CA (yes, Bill & Ted town) and I know exactly where all 4 of those photos from the episode were taken.
All 4 photos are from the corner of San Dimas Avenue and Via Verde Way. Michael drives KITT up San Dimas Avenue to where it meets Via Verde Way and turns left onto Via Verde Way to pass the semi and make a U turn to drive into it. That corner that the semi is parked along now has a Union 76 gas station there and the street is actually now called Raging Waters Drive on that side of San Dimas Avenue. There's a Park N Ride just after the 76. If Michael were to have kept going straight after making the left onto Via Verde Way he would have driven over the bridge that crosses the 210 freeway and down into Frank G. Boneli regional park. If he made a left just after the bridge he'd be entering the main drive that leads to the other side of the park (and passed Puddingstone Lake) and eventually to the Raging Waters entrance. Sorry I couldnt seem to get a 4th picture in the thread but its the one from page 14 of this thread with KITT about to drive up into the semi.
There ya go all!

Re: Locations ?
Welcome to KRO, NightRiding! Thanks for the tip on that location. I tried looking at it via Google Maps and other aerial shots and I don't think I have the right location, as I dont see a 76 gas station. Is this it?

Re: Locations ?
That is EXACTLY it. The intersection has undergone radical change as you can see. NONE of that was there. That 76 gas station (NE Corner, not labeled well) and the big building behind it (senior living) was a huge open trench. The houses in the NW and SW areas weren't there. The SW corner was a large hill with great wind that all the R/C fliers called "glider hill". I used to walk up it with my brother to fly his planes. This has brought back soo many memories. Am I really that old?....
The Via Verde Point sign was on the NW corner right at the street. I made a red arrow to show Michael's direction of travel and the U-turn. He he hadn't made that left onto Via Verde he'd have driven back into where the infamous "100 ft. jump" scene was filmed (maybe even the same episode). I also know of another shot that was filmed of KITT heading up Via Verde Way heading East and making a left onto San Dimas Avenue. I can see it so clearly in my head but I don't know the episode. I'm about to start buying the seasons on DVD so I'll get back to you when I find it.

Re: Locations ?
NightRiding, thanks for the visual. The other episode you are thinking of is season one's "White Bird". Michael and Stevie are being chased and KITT jumps through a large wooden sign on the back of a truck. There's a retreat they stay at in that episode - I wonder if it's in the same location? I'll have to dig up some pics.

Here are some shots from "White Bird" - anything look familiar? The last shot has a San Dimas street sign in it:

Re: Locations ?
Yes yes, that first picture is from the corner opposite what is now the 76 gas station. Behind the camera that took that photo is where KITT jumps the truck on what is now an extension of San Dimas Avenue. I remember my brother talking to me about it one day when we were up flying on glider hill. Alas the crew had already come and gone. I'd kill for my brother to have taken pictures. Of course no one was allowed anywhere near there at the time of filming.
The second photo is of KITT driving north on San Dimas avenue. Just over the little incline it goes downhill to the left of the 210 freeway.
The picture in the "downtownish" looking area looks a lot like it was filmed right next to the University of LaVerne. I will scout it next time I go home to visit. I live in Des Moines, IA and now I'm just itching to go look! Great shots!

I saw this episode a couple of weeks ago and I imediately recognised the picture here. I only know because I have been there. This episode is "Out of the Woods" in the fourth season and the location is Lake Tahoe, California, Emerald Bay to be exact. The island is called Fannette Island.
This is in the show.

This is amazing! Although it is not likely that this episode was filmed near Lake Tahoe,
it makes you want to actually go there someday!

Re: Locations ?
Found another one last night, completely by accident again!
I was rewatching "Just My Bill" and during the final scene when KITT pulls into a restaurant, something in this screencap caught my eye:
Can anyone see it? Take a closer look in the background:
Yep! It's the same Auto Electric company seen in the Pilot! From previous posts, we know that's located at 4097 Lakershim in North Hollywood. So, all we need to do to find the restaurant is look over from that building!
4104 Cahuenga Blvd
North Hollywood, CA (rough estimate of address)
As you can see, the building used as the restaurant is either gone or heavily renovated:
However, the building seen to the left in the picture below is still there!
View of the road:
Okay, lunch break is over, back to work!

Re: Locations ? Many Happy Returns
I happened to be out in LA a few weeks ago, and thought I would see if one of the filming locations was still around. Sadly, it wasn’t. Only a few remnants are left of what was.
For anyone who has been trying to find where “Lowell Industries” from “Many Happy Returns”, it no longer exists (the building that is). The location still shows signs from the show.
Below are aerial, and birdseye views you may recognize.
Enjoy.
